Joe Paul is an Indian lyricist and music composer who works in Malayalam Cinema. [1] He began his film career in 2015 with the movie You Too Brutus . [2]

Early life and background

Paul was born in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, Kerala to P. P. Paul and Baby Paul and grew up in Kochi. He graduated with a BSc Agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, [3] and master's from the University of Minnesota. He is settled in Dallas with his family.

Writing career

In 2000, Paul composed and wrote his first work Krooshitharoopam, a devotional song. He made his debut as a lyricist in the Malayalam film industry in 2015 [4] with the song Raavukalilfor the movie You Too Brutus . His popular works include lyrics for the songs from the movies Queen, Dear Comrade, Ranam, Ishq etc. [5] [6]

Vayalar Ramavarma, also known as Vayalar, was an Indian poet and lyricist of Malayalam language. He was known for his poems which include Sargasangeetham, Mulankaadu, Padamudrakal, Aayisha and Oru Judas janikkunnu and for around 1,300 songs he penned for 256 Malayalam films. He received the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in 1972 and was the winner of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist in its year of inception which he received three more times. Premam (transl. Love) is a 2015 Indian Malayalam-language coming of age romance film written, directed and edited by Alphonse Puthren. It was produced by Anwar Rasheed and stars Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi. It also features with an ensemble supporting cast including Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameswaran, Shabareesh Varma, Krishna Sankar, Siju Wilson, Ananth Nag, Vinay Forrt, Soubin Shahir, Sharafudheen and others. The plot follows George (Nivin)’s romantic journey with his friends from their teens to adulthood. While George's first love turns out to be a disappointment, Malar (Pallavi), a college lecturer, rekindles his love interest. Dharmajan Bolgatty is an Indian actor, producer, comedian, politician and entrepreneur, who works in Malayalam films, television, and stage shows. He began his career as a comedian appearing in sketch comedies on stage, later forayed into such comedic television shows and into films in 2010s. Dharmajan entered active politics in 2021, ahead of the assembly elections in Kerala.
