Kapil Kapilan is an Indian singer who works predominately in South Indian languages. His breakthrough coincides with his song "Adiye" from Bachelor (2021; Tamil). [1] Kapil Kaplan won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Singer for the "Kanave" from the unreleased film Pallotty 90s Kids (Malayalam). [2] [3]

Early life and career

Kapilan is from Kottarakkara. He studied at Mar Ivanios College before moving to Chennai to pursue a career in music. [1] He began his career in 2017 in three languages with: "Champesaave Nannu" from the Telugu film Nenu Local , "Baduke Neenentha Nataka" from the Kannada film Happy New Year , and "Usiredukkum Kootam" from Maragadha Naanayam . [1] His career took a new turn with "Adiye", from the Tamil film Bachelor (2021), [1] for which he won the SIIMA Award for Best Playback Singer – Tamil. [4]

Selected discography

He sang "Neela Nilave" from RDX (2023; Malayalam) and the title track of Sapta Saagaradaache Ello – Side A (2023) in five languages. [2] [1] The same year his song 'Ka...Ka...Ka...' was noted for his "vibrant voice" in Maharani. [5] In 2024, Kapilan was singer of ‘Mini Maharani’ from Premalu . [6]
