Anuradha Bhat is an Indian playback singer [1] who predominantly works in Kannada language films. She has sung over 100 songs for feature films and also sung in various private musical albums. [2]

Early life and background

Anuradha Bhat was born to Sri krishna Bhat and Gayatri Sri krishna Bhat in Mangalore, Karnataka. Anuradha has a younger sister, Anupama Bhat who is a television host (TV anchor) and actor. [3] [4]

Anuradha Bhat received her primary education from Carmel school and later from premier institutes like Canara College and MSNM Besant PG Institute of Management Studies (both affiliated to Mangalore University) [5]

Career

Anuradha Bhat has worked in several non-film albums, remix songs, TV serials, children’s songs & rhymes. "Chinnu – Series of Kannada Animated Rhymes" rendered by Anuradha Bhat is popular among the toddlers. [6] [7] also sung & featured in video single "Naa haaduve nimagaagiye" [8] A compilation of few of her popular songs - “Anuradha Bhat mashup” is another video song that features her. [9] "Navilugari" is yet another non-film song that she has rendered alongside Rajesh Krishnan. [10]

Gurukiran Shetty, known mononymously as Gurukiran, is an Indian music director of the Kannada film industry in India. He is a native of Mangalore and hails from Bunt Family. His mother tongue is Tulu. V. Harikrishna is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer, playback singer and film producer. He has mainly scored music for Kannada films. After his stint as a programmer and assistant musician, Harikrishna made his debut as an independent composer in actor Darshan's first production venture Jothe Jotheyali in 2006. Since then, he has been scoring for majority of Darshan's films besides working for many other leading production houses. He owns an audio company called "D-Beats" established in 2013 and produces music under his own company starting from the film Bulbul (2013). He has turned into a director with the 2019 Kannada film 'Yajamana'.

Kempe Gowda is a 2011 Kannada-language action film starring Sudeepa and Ragini Dwivedi in the lead roles. The film was directed by Sudeepa and produced by Shankar Gowda. It is a remake of the Tamil-language film Singam directed by Hari. Arjun Janya has composed the music. A namesake sequel titled Kempegowda 2 was released in 2019.This film emerged as a box office blockbuster.

The Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback – Kannada is given by the Filmfare magazine as part of its annual Filmfare Awards South for Kannada films. The first Kannada award was given in 2007. Before that, since 1997 till 2005, a common award for playback was available for both Male and Female singers of all the four South Indian languages.

Tulu cinema, also known as Coastalwood, is a part of Indian cinema. The Tulu film industry produces five to seven films annually. The first Tulu film was Enna Thangadi released in 1971. Earlier, these films were released in theatres across the Tulu Nadu region. Tulu film industry has grown to such an extent that films are being released simultaneously in Mangalore, Udupi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Middle East. The critically acclaimed Tulu film Suddha won the award for the best Indian Film at the Osian's Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema held in New Delhi in 2006. In 2011, the Tulu film Industry got a second lease of life with the release of the film Oriyardori Asal. The film turned out to be the biggest hit in Tulu film history to date. Chaali Polilu is the longest running film in Tulu film industry. This movie is the highest-grossing film in the Tulu film industry. Puttur Narasimha Nayak is a Kannada and Konkani singer and vocalist from Karnataka. He sings devotional songs, chiefly Haridasa compositions, and Carnatic classical music. To his credit, he has rendered in Kannada, mainly devotional songs and kirthanas by Purandara Dasa, Kanaka Dasa and has given many public concerts all over the world. His "Pavamana Jagada Prana" album was extremely popular.

<i>Drama</i> (2012 film) 2012 Indian film

Drama is a 2012 Indian Kannada romantic comedy thriller written, directed and co-produced by Yogaraj Bhat under the banner Yogaraj Movies and Jayanna Combines. It stars Yash, Radhika Pandit, Sathish Ninasam and Sindhu Lokanath in leading roles and veteran actor Ambareesh in an extended cameo appearance.

Birugaali is a 2009 Indian Kannada language action film written and directed by Harsha making his second directorial after Geleya. The film stars Chetan Kumar of Aa Dinagalu fame along with Sithara Vaidya, Charisma Bharadwaj and Tara in main roles. The film featured the musical score by Arjun Janya which was received positively among the critics and masses.

Arjun Kapikad is an Indian actor and singer, who appears in Tulu films and Kannada film industries. He made his acting debut with the 2012 movie, Telikeda Bolli. He is a frequent collaborater with his father Devadas Kapikad.

Hemanth Subramanya known by his stage name as Hemanth, is a playback singer in Kannada cinema.

<i>Mukunda Murari</i> 2016 Indian film

Mukunda Murari is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language devotional satirical comedy drama film directed by Nanda Kishore. The film stars Upendra in an atheist role and Sudeepa playing the role of Lord Krishna, teaming up for the first time. The film, a remake of Hindi film OMG - Oh My God! (2012), which in turn was based on a Gujarati stage play Kanji Virrudh Kanji, is produced by M.N. Kumar along with B. Jayashree Devi. The rest of the cast includes Nikita Thukral, Ishita Vyas, Kaavya Shah, P. Ravishankar, Avinash among others. The film has cinematography by Sudhakar S. Raj. The soundtrack and film score are composed by Arjun Janya.

Deyi Baideti – Gejjegiri Nandanodu is a 2019 Indian Tulu-language historical film directed and produced by Suryoday Permapalli. The film is presented by Lakshman K Ameen under the banner of Sankri Motion Pictures. The film's soundtracks was composed by B Bhaskar Rao, while the score was composed by Manikanth Kadri. The film was released on 11 January 2019. The film won Karnataka State Film Awards for Best Regional Language Film, Best Director, and Best Singer.
