Ravi Basrur is an Indian music composer, lyricist and director who mostly works in the Kannada film industry. He is known for his collaborations with director Prashanth Neel, with whom he debuted in Ugramm . He is also a film director, having directed the films Gargar Mandala and Girmit .

He is a native of Kundapura, a coastal town in Karnataka state. Born in Basrur Village. [1]

Career

He debuted by scoring music for the film Ugramm . [2] [3] Following his debut, Basrur composed music [4] [5] for films such as Ekka Saka (2015), Just Maduveli (2015), [6] Karvva (2016), [7] [8] K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018) and K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022).

He was also nominated for a Filmfare Awards South [9] [10] [11] award for Best Music Director for this film. His other projects include the Prashant Neel directorial Salaar and Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. [12] [13]

Ugramm (transl. Anger) is a 2014 Indian Kannada-language action thriller film directed by Prashanth Neel in his directorial debut, and produced by his brother Pradeep Neel. It stars Sriimurali and Hariprriya in the lead roles, with Tilak Shekar, Avinash, Atul Kulkarni, and Jai Jagadish in supporting roles. The music was composed by Ravi Basrur. <i>KGF: Chapter 1</i> (soundtrack) 2018 soundtrack album by Ravi Basrur

KGF: Chapter 1 is the soundtrack album of the 2018 Indian period action film of the same name. Ravi Basrur, who composed the score, was recorded in over three years, and several musicians and orchestras, across the world, had attributed to the film score and music. The Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada versions of the album, were released by Lahari Music on 7 December 2018, whereas the Hindi version's soundtrack, marketed by T-Series, released two days later. Lyricists for the film songs are: Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad, Kinnal Raj and Basrur (Kannada), Prasad and Mohammed Aslam (Hindi), Kabilan and Madhurakavi (Tamil), Ramajogayya Sastry (Telugu) and Sudamsu (Malayalam).
