Joe Paul James Robertson [1] is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Isle of Wight East constituency since 2024. [2]
Joe Robertson grew up on the Island and went to school in Ryde. [3] He read Geography at UCL between 2003-2006. Between 2008-2010 he studied at BPP Law School before being called to the Bar by Middle Temple in 2010. [4]
Robertson was elected to Isle of Wight Council in 2021. He served as the Conservative group leader between 2021 [5] and 2023. [6]
He was selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate in June 2023 for the newly created Isle of Wight East constituency [7] as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies.
In the 2024 United Kingdom general election Robertson was elected to Parliament as MP for Isle of Wight East with 30.6% of the vote and a majority of 3,323. [8]
Robertson grew up on the Island and went to school in Ryde. [9] He is a qualified family solicitor and worked for Dementia UK as a legal and governance advisor. [10]

The Island Line is a railway line on the Isle of Wight which runs along the island's east coast and links Ryde Pier Head with Shanklin. Trains connect at Ryde Pier Head with passenger ferries to Portsmouth Harbour,and these ferries in turn connect with the rest of the National Rail network via the Portsmouth Direct Line. The line also connects to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway,a heritage railway,at Smallbrook Junction.
