Robert Peter Moore (born 28 November 1984) [2] is a British Conservative Party politician,who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Keighley and Ilkley,formerly Keighley,in West Yorkshire since the 2019 general election. [3] He has been Shadow Minister for Environment,Food and Rural Affairs since July 2024. [4]
In 2007,the family set up a plastics-recycling business. [5]
He studied architecture at Newcastle University and rural surveying at the University College of Estate Management. A qualified rural chartered surveyor,he set up his own consultancy practice,Brockthorpe Consultancy. [6]
Before being elected as MP for Keighley in 2019,Moore was a councillor on Alnwick Town Council and represented Alnwick on Northumberland County Council. [6] He unsuccessfully contested the July 2019 by-election for Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner,but at the general election in December,he gained the marginal seat of Keighley from the Labour incumbent,John Grogan. In the 2024 United Kingdom general election,he defeated Grogan again and was re-elected against the national swing. [7]

Northumberland is a ceremonial county in North East England, bordering Scotland. It is bordered by the Scottish Borders to the north, the North Sea to the east, Tyne and Wear and County Durham to the south, and Cumbria to the west. The town of Blyth is the largest settlement.
Keighley is a market town and a civil parish in the City of Bradford Borough of West Yorkshire, England. It is the second largest settlement in the borough, after Bradford.
Ilkley is a spa town and civil parish in the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, in Northern England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, Ilkley civil parish includes the adjacent village of Ben Rhydding and is a ward within the City of Bradford. Approximately 12 miles (19 km) north of Bradford and 17 miles (27 km) north-west of Leeds, the town lies mainly on the south bank of the River Wharfe in Wharfedale, one of the Yorkshire Dales.
John Arthur Stevens, Baron Stevens of Kirkwhelpington, is a former Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, having served from 2000 until 2005. From 1991 to 1996, he was Chief Constable of Northumbria Police before being appointed one of HM Inspectors of Constabulary in September 1996. Worth Valley is a ward in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, West Yorkshire. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 Census was 14,387. It is named after the River Worth that runs through the valley to the town of Keighley where it joins the River Aire. In the north it is bounded by North Yorkshire, in the west by Lancashire and in the south by Calderdale District.
Addingham is a village and civil parish in the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It is situated near the A65, 6 miles (10 km) south-east of Skipton, 3 miles (5 km) west of Ilkley, 12 miles (19 km) north-west of Bradford and around 20 miles (32 km) north-west of Leeds. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is located in the valley of the River Wharfe and is only 1 mile (2 km) from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The name is thought to mean "homestead associated with a man called Adda", although in the Domesday Book, the village was referred to as "Ediham", which may have referred to Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. The 2001 census numbered Addingham's population at 3,599, increasing to 3,730 at the 2011 Census.
Bradford East is a constituency in West Yorkshire represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2015 by Imran Hussain of the Labour Party, until his suspension and the withdrawal of the whip on 23 July 2024, as a result of his voting to scrap the two child benefit cap. He now sits as an independent MP until the whip is re-established.
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is the local authority of the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. Bradford has had an elected council since 1847, which has been reformed on several occasions. Since 1974 it has been a metropolitan district council. It provides the majority of local government services in the city. The council has been a member of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority since 2014.
The first elections to the newly created City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council were held on 10 May 1973, with the entirety of the 93 seat council - three seats for each of the 31 wards - up for vote. The Local Government Act 1972 stipulated that the elected members were to shadow and eventually take over from the predecessor corporation on 1 April 1974. The order in which the councillors were elected dictated their term serving, with third-place candidates serving two years and up for re-election in 1975, second-placed three years expiring in 1976 and 1st-placed five years until 1978.
The Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is an elected official in the United Kingdom. The office was created in November 2012 following the enactment of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. The PCC is tasked with the governance of the Northumbria Police, responsible for the metropolitan county of Tyne and Wear, and the ceremonial county of Northumberland.
