Joglosemarketo is indonesian passenger commuter rail, operated by Kereta Api Indonesia. It runs loop line, like from Solo Balapan, Semarang Tawang, and Purwokerto, also Cilacap-Yogyakarta line. All the Joglosemarkerto train connections is the colored bright yellow ( )
This train first operated on 1 December 2018 to merge two previously existing train services (Kamandaka and Joglokerto) to simplify services, and increase passenger occupancy rates on the Yogyakarta–Semarang route no changing to other trains in Purwokerto or Solo Balapan. [1]
The train's name is a portmanteau of the names of the cities and regencies that the train service passes through: Jogjakarta, Solo, Semarang, and Purwokerto.
Although on the Semarang–Solo–Yogyakarta–Purwokerto route there are several train services (Kamandaka, Kalijaga, Joglokerto, Joglosemar), the number of train trips was still small, so many passengers who want to travel to these cities have to stop at the big stations they pass through. [2] [3] Due to this problem, KAI created a new service to accommodate train services on the ring road with the name "Joglosemarkerto" which was first discussed in mid-November 2018. This train series uses train sets belonging to the Kamandaka and Joglokerto train in this case, one train set from the Jaka Tingkir was donated and affected the train's travel schedule so that both services were removed for the sake of simplifying the service.
On 1 February 2019, The train's operating pattern has undergone changes. The Kamandaka train has been re-operated to serve the Purwokerto–Semarang Tawang line and vice versa. [4]
Initially, the only available ring-rail train tickets were for the Solo Balapan return to Solo Balapan route; further ring-rail ticket booking services were subsequently added, including those for Yogyakarta–Yogyakarta and Semarang–Tawang–Semarang–Tawang, allowing these tickets to be booked following the change in operating patterns.
In addition to these trains serving the Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta loop lines, Joglosemarkerto added a new train service between Cilacap Station and Yogyakarta Station, trains 223 and 224 (the Wijayakusuma train) and 231 and 232 (the Mutiara Timur idle train) as of 25 February 2022. [5]
