John Galas is an American soccer coach.

Early life

Galas was born in the United States, before moving to Switzerland with his family when he was 6 years old. When he returned to the United States four years later, Galas joined Los Angeles' youth soccer scene and later played in junior college, as well as graduating with a master's degree in football industries from the University of Liverpool in England. Coaching career

Prior to coaching in more prominent roles, Galas served as the head coach for the Boys Under-18 team at the Oregon United Soccer Academy, as the goalkeeper coach for the Region IV Olympic Development Program in Moscow, Idaho, and as the goalkeeping coach for Liverpool's Community Coaching Program. [2]

In July 2000, Galas became assistant coach at Florida State University. [3] After three seasons he was named assistant at the University of Oregon. [4] Whilst in Oregon, Galas later served as an assistant coach with United Soccer League side Portland Timbers.

In 2007, Galas moved to the University of Arizona as an assistant, before been named associate head coach in 2009. [2]

Following his spell at the University of Arizona, Galas become director of goalkeeping at Real Salt Lake's academy in Casa Grande, Arizona. [5]

Galas made the move to NWSL side Portland Thorns as their assistant, until been named the sporting director and head coach of USL PDL side Lane United on September 24, 2013. [6] Whilst with Lane United, Galas spent the off season between 2016 and 2017 to become assistant coach with Segunda División B side Villarreal B. [7]

On January 11, 2019, Galas become assistant to head coach Darren Sawatzky at USL League One side FC Tucson. [8] He then took over the head coaching position in January 2020, following Sawatzky's dismissal at the end of their inaugural League One season. [9]

On June 29, 2021, Galas and Tucson mutually agreed to terminate his position at the club. [10]

On January 28, 2022, it was announced that Galas had returned to Lane United FC as their head coach ahead of the 2022 USL League Two season. [11]

Born in the United States, he represented Guam at international level, playing as a defender.

Benjamin Willis is an American soccer player and coach who is currently the head coach of Oly Town FC's USL W League side and an assistant for the University of Puget Sound Loggers women's team.

The 2020 USL League One season was the second season of USL League One. The regular season was scheduled to begin on March 27 and end on October 3. On March 13, it was announced the regular season start would be delayed to April 11 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This delay was extended to May 10. The delay was extended for a third time with the USL awaiting guidance and clarity from various authorities before announcing a new date. On June 5, the league announced a provisional return date of July 18. On July 2, the league announced a modified 20-game schedule with a modified playoffs. Now, only the top two teams will go straight to the League Finals, on the weekend of October 31. On July 8, Toronto FC II announced they would not play in 2020 because of COVID-19 restrictions. They remain a member club of the league, and plan to return for the 2021 season. Nine teams return from the inaugural season, while three new teams enter for the first time; MLS reserve teams Fort Lauderdale CF and New England Revolution II, and expansion club Union Omaha.

The USL Super League (USLS) is a professional women's soccer league in the highest level of the United States league system, alongside the National Women's Soccer League. Organized by the United Soccer League (USL), it operates as its premier league for women above the pre-professional USL W League. The league consists of eight clubs who annually play four round-robins – two in the fall and two in the spring – to earn four places in a playoff tournament that determines the league's champion. Additional clubs are expected to join the league in the future. Clubs in the league have no cap on salaries or squad sizes, while minimum salaries are around US$35,000 to 37,000. There is no draft system, and squads are primarily built with free agents. The league's matches are streamed nationally on Peacock.

The 2022 Richmond Kickers season was the club's 30th season of existence, their fourth season in USL League One, and their 18th season in the third tier of American soccer. The Kickers were led by third-year head coach, Darren Sawatzky. The USL League One season started on April 2 and concluded on October 15, 2022.
