The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II,Queen of Australia,on the advice of the Australian Government. Before the establishment of the order,Australian citizens received British honours.

Bernard Francis Kilgariff AM was an Australian politician. He was one of the founders of the Country Liberal Party and served as a member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly which included a stint as Deputy Majority Leader. He was elected to the Australian Senate in 1975,and initially sat with the National Country Party until 1979,before sitting with the Liberal Party for the rest of his federal political career.
John Christopher Anictomatis AO is a Greek Australian who served as the Administrator of the Northern Territory from 28 November 2000 to 30 October 2003. Anictomatis was sworn in by Sir William Deane,the Governor-General of Australia. The ceremony was held in Darwin.

John Charles Roberts was an Australian businessman who was the founding chairman and an executive director of construction company Multiplex.
Sally Gordon Thomas is a former Judge of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory,serving from 1992 to 2009. She was appointed to the Court on 10 August 1992 and was the first woman to be appointed a Judge of the Court. She was sworn in as the first female Administrator of the Northern Territory in October 2011. One of her first engagements in the role was to welcome Barack Obama,the President of the United States,to Darwin during his visit in November 2011.

An author since 1989,Lewis worked as a high school teacher,and served as naval officer for 20 years,seeing active service in Baghdad during the Iraq war,and working in East Timor. In June 2003,Lewis was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for meritorious service to the Royal Australian Navy,particularly in the promotion of Australian naval history.
Kingsley Haldane Bugarin,OAM is an Australian Paralympic and vision impaired swimmer.
