John Nugent Valentine (born 20 September 1954) is a Canadian former cricketer, a left-arm medium-pace bowler who was the first player to take a wicket for Canada in a One Day International. In terms of batting, he was decidedly a tail-ender, and in nine matches at ODI and ICC Trophy level his highest score was 3 not out. He played domestic cricket in Canada for Ottawa, Ontario.
Valentine appeared in Canada's runner-up 1979 ICC Trophy team with some success; he took nine wickets at 15.88, though never more than two in a single innings. He also played in his country's 1979 World Cup side, opening the bowling and removing Pakistan's opening batsman Majid Khan for 1. Valentine played two other matches for the outclassed Canadian team in that tournament, against England (taking the wicket of captain Mike Brearley) and Australia (claiming the scalp of Rick Darling). He now works as a technology teacher in Ashbury College.
Valentine's father, Barry Valentine, played cricket for Cambridge University and later became the Bishop of Rupert's Land in Canada. [1]

Charles Anthony "Tony" Reid is a Barbados-born American former cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler, he played for the United States national cricket team from 2000 until 2005. He was the first man to take a wicket for the US in a One Day International (ODI).
Kyle David Mills is a New Zealand cricket coach and former international cricketer who is the former bowling coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also a former captain of the New Zealand cricket team in limited-overs matches. Mills played top-class cricket between 1998 and 2015 as a bowler. He featured in three World Cup tournaments for New Zealand in 2003, 2011 and 2015. He was a member of New Zealand's first ever T20I team. Michael John Lumb is a former South African-born English cricketer, who played for Yorkshire, Hampshire, and Nottinghamshire at county level and England in Twenty20 International cricket and One Day International cricket. Born and raised in South Africa, Lumb is a left-handed opening batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler. He became only the second cricketer after Dennis Amiss to score a century on ODI debut for England and ninth player overall to do so. Lumb was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20.
Janeiro J Tucker is a Bermudian cricketer, who captained the Bermudian cricket team in their first ever One Day International when they played Canada on 17 May 2006; Tucker took 2/29 off nine overs and scored 17 as Bermuda won the rain-affected game by three wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis method. He has since gone on to play in 26 ODIs for Bermuda.
Pieter Marinus Seelaar is a Dutch cricketer and a former captain of the national team. He is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm orthodox spin bowler. Having played for The Netherlands at the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 levels, he made his senior debut in a C&G Trophy game against Warwickshire on 3 May 2005. He then played in the ICC Trophy later that year. He made his One Day International debut against Sri Lanka on 6 July 2006. Two years later, Seelaar made his Twenty20 International debut.

The 1979 Cricket World Cup was the second edition of the Cricket World Cup. Organised by the International Cricket Conference, it was held in England from 9 to 23 June 1979.
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a 22-yard (20-metre) pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The striker's goal is to hit the bowled ball and then switch places with the nonstriker, with the batting team scoring one run for each exchange. Runs are also scored when the ball reaches or crosses the boundary of the field or when the ball is bowled illegally.
Martin Joel Prashad was a Canadian cricketer of Guyanese origin. His career for the Canadian national side spanned from 1983 to 1996, and included games at the 1986, 1990, and 1994 editions of the ICC Trophy.
