Jordan Cornell Williams (born March 23, 1993) is an American former professional football linebacker who played for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played his senior season of high school football at Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Florida, and played college football at Tennessee for four years. Williams played in 44 games, of which he started 21, during his college career, recording 66 tackles and 6.5 sacks. After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft, he signed with the New York Jets and spent time on the team's practice squad before being released in September 2015. He was then signed by the Dolphins, where he spent time on both the practice squad and active roster from 2015 to 2016. Williams played in one game for the Dolphins. He was on the Giants' practice squad, active roster, and injured reserve from 2016 to 2018, and appeared in one game for them as well. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2019 but spent the entire season on injured reserve, and was released in 2020.
Jordan Cornell Williams was born on March 23, 1993 in Gainesville, Florida. [1] He played his first three years of high school football at P. K. Yonge Developmental Research School in Gainesville. [2] [3] During his junior year, he broke his collarbone in the fifth game and missed the rest of the season. [4] [5] While at P. K. Yonge, he spent time at middle linebacker, nose tackle and tight end. [4] [6]
After his junior year at P. K. Yonge, Williams transferred to play his senior year of football at Gainesville High School in Gainesville. [2] [7] [8] In his senior season in 2010, he played defensive end and tight end while also spending some time at long snapper. [9] [8] [10] In 2010, he was named to both the Super 11 team and Class 5A-AA first-team of the Gainesville Sun . [5] [11] [7] Gainesville High finished with an 11–2 record and advanced to the state semifinals. [7] [12] [13] Williams played in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA)/Reebok North-South All Star Football Classic on December 22, 2010. He committed to play college football for Tennessee in October 2010. Williams played for the Tennessee Volunteers of the University of Tennessee from 2011 to 2014. [31] [32] He majored in Arts & Sciences at Tennessee. He was a recipient of the Horne Athletic Scholarship. [7]
He played in nine games his freshman year in 2011 as a defensive end, recording four tackles and a sack. [7] [8] [33]
He was moved to jack linebacker his sophomore season in 2012. [7] [34] [35] [36] [37] Williams appeared in ten games, of which he started in half of them, and totaled two sacks and 17 tackles, four of which were tackles for loss. Williams moved to defensive tackle his senior year in 2014. [8] [34] He played in 13 games, all starts, and totaled two sacks, four pass breakups and 27 tackles, four of which were tackles for loss. Williams signed with the New York Jets in May 2015 after going undrafted in the 2015 draft. [49] He was released by the Jets on September 5 and signed to the team's practice squad the following day. [51] [52] He was released by the Jets on September 22, 2015. [52] [51]
Williams was signed to the Miami Dolphins' practice squad on October 6, 2015. He was promoted to the active roster on December 5. [53] [51] He made his NFL debut and only appearance of the 2015 season on December 6 against the Baltimore Ravens, playing four snaps on defense and four snaps on special teams. [54] He was released by the Dolphins on December 26 and signed to the team's practice squad three days later. [55] [51] Williams signed a reserve/future contract with the Dolphins in January 2016. On December 6, 2016, the New York Giants signed Williams to their practice squad. [51] He signed a reserve/future contract with the Giants on January 9, 2017. Williams' father, Keith, was a defensive lineman at Florida in the mid-1980s, was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 12th round of the 1987 NFL draft, and later played for the Chicago Bruisers, Dallas Texans and Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League from 1988 to 1991. He played football and basketball at York High School in Yorktown, Virginia. He played college football at Richmond for four years. Edwards earned first-team All-CAA honors in 2012 after leading the CAA in receptions with 80. He was also named first-team All-CAA his senior year in 2013. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL draft, Edwards remained unsigned until being signed by the Giants in May 2015. He played in two games for the Giants in 2015, catching one pass for nine yards. Robb-Davon Butler is an American former professional football defensive back who played one season with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He was a three-year letterman in both football and track at Perry Traditional Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He earned All-State honors in football for his senior year in 1998. Butler played college football at Pittsburgh for two years as a cornerback. He then transferred to Robert Morris and played wide receiver. He redshirted his first season and caught 29 passes for 459 yards his second season. Butler converted to strong safety his senior season in 2003 and earned first-team Division I-AA All-American honors. After going undrafted in the 2004 NFL draft, he signed with the Chargers. He played in five games for the Chargers in 2004, recording seven total tackles and two kickoff returns. Jared Scott Norris is an American former professional football linebacker who played for the Carolina Panthers and Washington Football Team of the National Football League (NFL). He played high school football at Centennial High School in Bakersfield, California, where he was a three-year starter and three-year letterman. He also earned All-State honors his senior year. Norris played college football at Utah, where he was a three-year starter and four-year letterman. His senior year in 2015, he was named second-team All-Pac-12 and played in the Senior Bowl. During his college career, Norris played in 42 games and started 32 of them. He recorded 269 total tackles, seven sacks, eight pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft, Norris signed with the Panthers. He played in 28 games for the Panthers from 2016 to 2018 and made 11 total tackles. He also appeared in 16 contests for the Washington Football Team from 2020 to 2021, recording six total tackles. Norris was primarily a special teams player during his NFL career. Gregory Brian Mancz is an American professional football offensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2015 to 2022, primarily with the Houston Texans. He was lightly recruited out of high school in 2010 and ended up playing college football for the Toledo Rockets of the University of Toledo, where he was a four-year starter at several positions along the offensive line. He earned various All-American and All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honors during his college career. His senior season in 2014, he won the Vern Smith Leadership Award, which is given to the best player in the MAC. Mancz went undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft and signed with the Texans shortly thereafter.
Corey Moore is an American former professional football safety who played for the Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He lettered in football, basketball and track at Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia. In football, he earned SuperPrep All-American honors and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He then played college football at Georgia, where he was a four-year letterman. Moore played in 50 games during his college career, recording 76 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and three pass breakups. He signed with the Houston Texans after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft. He played in 31 regular season games, starting 11, for the Texans from 2015 to 2017, and appeared in 15 regular season games for the Colts in 2018. He also appeared in playoff games for both the Texans and Colts. Moore later played for the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL in 2020.
Connor Hamlett is an American former professional football tight end who played for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He lettered in football, basketball and track at Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, Washington, where he earned All-State honors in football his senior year. He played college football at Oregon State, recording career totals of 104 receptions for 1,109 yards and 10 touchdowns. He finished third in school history in receptions for a tight end and fifth in receiving yards for a tight end. He was named Pac-12 All-Academic second-team his junior season in 2013 and Pac-12 All-Academic first-team his senior season in 2014. Hamlett signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after going undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft, but was waived before the start of the 2015 season. He then had short stints on the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints before being signed to the Browns' practice squad in December 2015. He played in three games, starting two, for the Browns in 2016, and caught one pass for a 17-yard touchdown. Hamlett was also a preseason member of the Dallas Cowboys in 2017 but suffered an injury and was released before the start of the 2017 season. He later played for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football in 2019 and the Seattle Dragons of the XFL in 2020.
Steven Longa is a Cameroonian-American former professional football linebacker who played for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played high school football at Saddle Brook High School in Saddle Brook, New Jersey, where he earned All-State honors his senior year. He played college football at Rutgers, where he was a three-year letterman. In 2013, Longa was named a Freshman All-American after leading NCAA Division I in tackles by a freshman with 123. He was named third-team All-Big Ten Conference in 2015. He started 37 games during his college career and recorded 342 tackles, which was the third most in school history. Longa forwent his final year of college eligibility to enter the 2016 NFL draft. After going undrafted, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks. He was released by the Seahawks before the start of the 2016 season and was then signed by the Lions, with whom he played for until 2019. Longa was primarily a special teams player during his NFL career; 493 of his 561 careers snaps were on special teams.
Trevor Williams is an American former professional football cornerback who played for the San Diego / Los Angeles Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, and Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played high school football at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, Maryland, where he was a two-year letterman and two-year team captain. He was named first-team All-State his senior year in 2011. Williams played college football at Penn State for four years. He was named honorable mention All-Big Ten Conference in 2014 and 2015. He played in 49 games during his college career, recording 84 tackles and five interceptions. After going undrafted in the 2016 NFL draft, he signed with the Chargers. He started 15 games for the Chargers in 2017 due to a season-ending injury to Jason Verrett. Despite being graded by Pro Football Focus as the 10th highest performing cornerback of the 2017 season, Williams was later benched in 2018 and struggled with injuries before being released by the Chargers in October 2019.
