Joshua Hernandez is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives from the 60th district. Elected in 2020,he assumed office on January 19,2021.
Hernandez was born in Albuquerque,New Mexico and graduated from Cibola High School. He originally studied marketing at the University of New Mexico,but ultimately did not graduate. In the summer of 2023,he graduated with an associate degree in digital marketing from Central New Mexico Community College [1] [2] and was accepted into Western New Mexico University where he will study Political Science.
Since 2011 Hernandez has served as communications director and campaign manager for multiple Congressional,State and Local political campaigns. He was the campaign manager for all of Gregg Hull's successful campaigns for Rio Rancho mayor. [2] Hernandez has since worked as the Digital Media Director for Agenda LLC,a global advocacy firm based in Albuquerque,NM. Hernandez also ran unsuccessfully for Rio Rancho City Council in 2016. [3]
In 2020,Hernandez ran unopposed for the 60th district in the New Mexico House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 19,2021,succeeding incumbent Republican Tim Lewis. [4] [5] He won re-election in 2022.

Rio Rancho is the largest and most populous city in Sandoval County,part of the expansive Albuquerque metropolitan area,in the U.S. state of New Mexico. A small portion of the city extends into northern Bernalillo County.
Cibola High School (CHS) is a public senior high school located in northwest Albuquerque,New Mexico. It is part of the Albuquerque Public Schools District. Due to rapid population growth on the west side of Albuquerque,Cibola was the largest high school in the state of New Mexico until 2006,and was overcrowded with over 3,200 students and 62 portable classrooms. School enrollment was reduced in 2007 with the opening of a new high school on Albuquerque’s west side. Volcano Vista High School opened in the fall of 2007. The following year,in 2008,CHS underwent a massive remodel and expansion of the school. The current enrollment stands at 2,197.
Española Valley High School (EVHS) is a Title-1 public senior high school of the Española Public Schools District,located in Española,New Mexico. Nearly 3/4 of the student body is made up of Hispanic students.
