KHKE (89.5 FM) is a radio station owned and operated by Iowa Public Radio in Cedar Falls, Iowa, United States. It is a classical station, sharing broadcast facilities with KUNI.
On February 24, 2007, the upper half of the KHKE tower collapsed due to an ice storm. The remaining lower half was later demolished, and the tower was scheduled to be rebuilt in summer 2007. [1]
WCLH is a non-commercial radio station licensed to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, United States, the station serves the Scranton area. The station is currently owned by Wilkes University. The station has obtained a construction permit from the FCC for a power increase to 205 watts. The station plays alternative rock, heavy metal, and most recently adding rap/hip-hop to the programming schedule. It also airs the nationally syndicated shows Democracy Now, Making Contact, CounterSpin, Radio Goethe and The Full Armor of God Broadcast. Like most college radio stations, it is run by a staff of students with the exception of a faculty general manager to oversee the day-to-day operations.
KUNI (90.9 MHz) is an FM radio station owned and operated by Iowa Public Radio (IPR) in Cedar Falls. It is one of two NPR outlets for Eastern Iowa; the other being WSUI in Iowa City. KUNI's transmitter is in Walker, Iowa, with its primary signal covering Cedar Falls, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. KUNI's programming is simulcast on full-power satellites KNSM and KRNI in Mason City. KUNI also has three low-power FM translators: K233AA in Davenport, K237GD in Iowa City, and K274AA in Eldridge.
