Kabir Duhan Singh [2] (born 8 September 1986 in Gohana, Haryana) is an Indian actor, who appears in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam language films. After making his debut in the Telugu film Jil (2015), Kabir has carved out a career as an antagonist in Tollywood. He has also appeared in Sardaar Gabbar Singh . [3]

Personal life

Singh was born and brought up in Faridabad in Haryana. [4] [5] Singh married Seema Chahal. [6] [7] The marriage function took place in Haryana. [8]

Career

Singh moved to Mumbai in 2011 and took up modelling as a career. He took up many a Fashion Week assignments and participated in international work as a part of his occupation. His first foray into acting was a part of a Hindi film project starring Shiney Ahuja, but the film was subsequently shelved. [4] Eager to make a career in films, he became a stage actor and then successfully auditioned to be a part of the Telugu film Jil (2015), whose makers had been looking for an antagonist with a North Indian background. The film subsequently won him positive reviews, while his follow up in Kick 2 (2015) was equally appreciated. [9] In order to maintain the high quality of his acting roles, Kabir chose to carefully analyse his characters before committing to roles and turned down other ventures which would have seen him portray the protagonist as well as a role in Bengal Tiger (2015). [4] The actor then made his debut in Tamil films by portraying a villain in Siva's revenge drama Vedalam (2015), which had Ajith Kumar in the lead role. [10]

Following the success of his initial films, Kabir began working on several Telugu films at the same time including Dictator and Sardaar Gabbar Singh , and was reported to be the "busiest baddie in Southern filmdom". [11]

Gabbar Singh is a fictional character and the antagonist of the 1975 Bollywood film Sholay. It was written by the duo Salim–Javed, consisting of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. Played by Amjad Khan, he is depicted in Sholay as a dacoit with an evil laugh much like "El Indio", the robber, from the Western film For a Few Dollars More, who leads a group in looting and plundering the villages in the region of Ramgarh. Sardaar Gabbar Singh is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film co-written and directed by K. S. Ravindra, based on an original story by Pawan Kalyan. A sequel to Gabbar Singh (2012), it stars Pawan Kalyan reprising his role from the previous film alongside Kajal Aggarwal and Sharad Kelkar. In the film, brave policeman Gabbar Singh (Kalyan) rescues the residents of Rathanpur when they are forced to face the wrath of Bhairav Singh (Kelkar), who unceremoniously usurps their land.

Vedalam (transl. "Phantom") is a 2015 Indian Tamil-language action film directed and co-written by Siva. It stars Ajith Kumar and Lakshmi Menon while Shruti Hassan, Ashwin Kakumanu, Rahul Dev, Thambi Ramaiah, Kabir Duhan Singh, and Soori play supporting roles. Jakkanna is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language comedy film directed by Vamsi Krishna Akella. The film features Sunil and Mannara Chopra in the lead roles, with Kabir Duhan Singh and Saptagiri playing supporting roles. Jakkanna released on 29 July 2016. The film was later dubbed in Hindi.

Shaakuntalam is a 2023 Indian Telugu-language historical romantic drama film written and directed by Gunasekhar. It is produced by Neelima Guna under Gunaa Teamworks and distributed by Sri Venkateswara Creations. Based on a popular play Abhignyana Shakuntalam by Kalidasa, the film features Samantha in the title role of Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru dynasty along with Mohan Babu, Jisshu Sengupta, Madhoo, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. In the film, Shakuntala and King Dushyant marry, but Dushyant forgets all about Shakuntala due to a sage's curse.

Marco is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language neo-noir action crime film produced by Shareef Muhammed under Cubes Entertainments and UMF. the film is directed by Haneef Adeni. It is the spin-off of 2019 film Mikhael. The film stars Unni Mukundan, alongside Yukti Thareja, Anson Paul, Siddique, Jagadish, Riyaz Khan, Jinu Joseph,Sreejith Ravi and Kabir Duhan Singh. The music was composed by Ravi Basrur, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Chandru Selvaraj and Shameer Muhammed. The movie will also get a release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
