Kattalan is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action drama film directed by Paul George and produced by Shareef Muhammed under the banner of Cubes Entertainments. The film stars Antony Varghese, Kabir Duhan Singh, Sunil, Jagadish, and Siddique. [1] The music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, with cinematography by Renadive and editing by Shameer Muhammed. [2]

The film was officially announced on 2 March 2025. [3] Principal photography began on 28 September 2025 in Thailand, [4] with additional shooting taking place in Vagamon, Kollam, Colombo, Dhanushkodi, Tirunelveli and Rameswaram. The music and original background score were composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The film is scheduled for release on 14th May 2026. [5]

Development

On 22 August 2025, the production of Kattalan began with a traditional pooja ceremony held at Chakkolas Pavilion in Kochi, Ernakulam. The event was attended by the film’s cast and crew, as well as members of the film industry. [6]

Filming

The principal photography began September 28, 2025. Major filming took place in Thailand [7] , Kothamangalam. The film is shot on Sony VENICE 2 8k camera.

Marketing

Antony Varghese plays the lead role in Kattalan. The marketing for the film began with the release of the first look poster on 11 October 2025. Further promotional activities and updates about the cast and production continued in the following months leading up to the scheduled release. [8]

Music

The music and original background score for Kattalan were composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.

Release

Kattalan is scheduled for release on May 14th 2026. [9]
