Kanuparru is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Nadendla mandal of Narasaraopet revenue division. [2]

Guntur district District of Andhra Pradesh in India

Guntur district is an administrative district in the Coastal Andhra region of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The administrative seat of the district is located at Guntur, the largest city of the district in terms of area and population. It has a coastline of approximately 100 km and is situated on the right bank of Krishna River, that separates it from Krishna district and extends till it empties into the Bay of Bengal. It is bounded on the south by Prakasam district and on the west by the state of Telangana. It has an area of 11,391 km2 (4,398 sq mi) and is the 2nd most populous district in the state, with a population of 4,889,230 as per 2011 census of India.

Narasaraopet revenue division

It comprises 11 mandals and is one of the four revenue divisions in the district, along with Tenali, Guntur and Gurazala. Narasaraopet serves as the headquarters of the division.

Demographics and climate

The total population of Kanaparru is 4102 . Males are 2038 and Females are 2,064 living in 960 Houses. The total area of Kanaparru is 1213 hectares. Kanaparru was built on flat land ringed by hills that are an extension of the Eastern Ghats. The summer months can get exceedingly hot while winters are mild. Rainfall is due to the monsoon and is concentrated in the months of July–September.

Hectare Metric unit of area

The hectare is an SI accepted metric system unit of area equal to a square with 100-metre sides, or 10,000 m2, and is primarily used in the measurement of land. There are 100 hectares in one square kilometre. An acre is about 0.405 hectare and one hectare contains about 2.47 acres.

Eastern Ghats mountain range

The Eastern Ghats are a discontinuous range of mountains along India's eastern coast. The Eastern Ghats run from the northern Odisha through Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu in the south passing some parts of Karnataka and in the Wayanad district of Kerala. They are eroded and cut through by four major rivers of peninsular India, viz. Godavari, Mahanadi, Krishna, and Kaveri.

Usually, the term monsoon is used to refer to the rainy phase of a seasonally changing pattern, although technically there is also a dry phase. The term is sometimes incorrectly used for locally heavy but short-term rains.

Governance

Kanaparru gram panchayat is the local self-government of the village. [1] It is divided into wards and each ward is represented by a ward member. [4]

A gram panchayat or village panchayat is the only grassroots-level of panchayati raj formalised local self-governance system in India at the village or small-town level, and has a sarpanch as its elected head.

Local self-government in India refers to governmental jurisdictions below the level of the state. India is a federal republic with three spheres of government: central (union), state and local. The 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments give recognition and protection to local governments and in addition each state has its own local government legislation. Since 1993, local government in India takes place in two very distinct forms. Urban localities, covered in the 74th amendment to the Constitution, have Nagar Palika but derive their powers from the individual state governments, while the powers of rural localities have been formalized under the panchayati raj system, under the 73rd amendment to the Constitution. Education

As per the school information report for the academic year 2018–19, the village has a total of 10 schools. These include 5 private and 5 Zilla Parishad/MPP schools. [5]

Mandal Parishad Primary School or Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School is the name of many Government Primary Schools in India and most particularly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These schools are established, supervised, and funded by the Mandal Parishad .Mandal Parishad Primary Schools provide education for students from grades 1-5.
