History

In 2013, the Karku station area was renovated as part of the basic improvement contract for the railway between Lielahti-Kokemäki. New high edge platforms and light platform shelters were built at the station. In addition, the station's lighting and parking were improved. [3]

Station building

The station building was completed in 1895. It was built according to the stop drawings of the Oulu railway. The station was later expanded with a cross gable designed by Bruno Granholm, which follows the station's original construction method. The appearance of the building has remained almost original after both construction phases. The interior of the station building was completely renovated as well. [1] The station platform is 55 centimeters above the ground, and about 250 meters in length. [4]
