Karma (born as Mahesh Man Shakya) is a Nepalese film and theater actor known for his roles in Sano Sansar , Loot and Lukamari. He is recognised as a versatile actor in the Nepali film industry. Visa Girl, Suntali and First Love are some of his other notable films.
Karma was born as Mahesh Man Shakya in Kathmandu, Nepal. He studied at St. Xaviers School in Kathmandu and then went to Pune, India to pursue further studies. He was passionate about acting. One day, he happened to come across a newspaper clipping of Quest Entertainment for a casting call. He thought of giving it a try and was selected as the lead role for Sano Sansar , which marked his debut in the Nepali film industry. [1] Karma has also sung for some Nepali films such as Ghintang Ghisi Twak in Lukamari .

Rajesh Hamal is a Nepalese, International film actor and a television host. He is a popular actor in Nepali cinema and is often called "MahaNayak" in Nepal. Hamal started his acting career in 1991 and peaked in the 1990s and early 2000s. He holds several box office records in Nepali cinema, including the most commercially successful films as a lead actor, most consecutive hits and most awards as an actor.

Kagbeni is a 2008 Nepali movie, loosely based on W. W. Jacobs's 1902 horror short story The Monkey's Paw. Kagbeni is the directorial debut of Bhusan Dahal. The name of the movie is taken from a tourist place Kagbeni in the valley of the Kali Gandaki, which is a two-hour trek from Muktinath. Kagbeni is considered to be a movie which changed the way people look at Nepali cinema, because it is seen as the first successful non-commercial movie in Nepal which was able to leave its mark in the film industry. Nepali critics now often describe non-commercial movies as 'post- Kagbeni era films'. Kagbeni was one of the few Nepali films during its time to manifest cinematography as one of the important elements in cinema.
Sano Sansar is a 2008 Nepali romantic comedy film directed by Alok Nembang. The film has a massive star cast which includes Neer Shah and newcomers Mahesh Shakya, Jiwan Luitel and Namrata Shrestha. Sano Sansar Nembang's directorial debut and is the second Nepali HD movie made after Kagbeni. The film is heavily influenced by the Korean movie My Sassy Girl and the English-language movie You've Got Mail. In 2021, Sano Sansar was shown again in theaters after COVID-19 lockdown ended in the country, it was after 13 years of its official release date it was shown again in some of the theaters. They took this decision in order to bring back audience to the theaters, because producers were not ready to release their unreleased films in fear of losing potential audience, since they were unsure if people are ready to attend theater after long pandemic.

Loot is a 2012 Nepali crime thriller film that was directed and written by Nischal Basnet as his debut. The film received critical acclaim with praise directed towards the performances of the cast, the screenplay, twists, climax and the direction of Nischal Basnet. The film, and especially Saugat Malla's character Haku Kale, developed a cult following in Nepali cinema. With an estimated budget of 5,000,000 to 7,000,000 Nepalese rupees (NPR), Loot grossed 52 million NPR at the box office and went on to become the highest grossing Nepali movie of all time, breaking several records at the box office. It is credited for bringing realism to Nepali cinema rather than focusing on larger than life routine masala Nepali film and brought a new wave of Cinema in Nepal. The film is also credited for reviving the box office in Nepal, attracting Nepali youth audience who at that time were attracted to Hollywood and Bollywood cinema moreso than routine Nepali cinema. The film won three National Film Awards.
Karna Shakya is a Nepalese environmentalist, conservationist, hotel entrepreneur, writer and philanthropist. Shakya is a forester by academic qualification. He served as a wildlife officer and pioneered in establishing the first National Park in Nepal. It is counted among the revolutionary movies like Loot, Kabaddi, etc. made in mid 2010s in Nepal which are credited for introducing a new way of movie making in Nepal. The movie is made special by very special role of Saugat Malla and the best role played by Karma Shakya in his entire film career till date as claimed by critics and audience. Unfortunately the movie had to clash with very much anticipated Bollywood movie that year by Salman Khan named 'Sultan' which occupied the major portion of screen and audience attention in Nepal. So it did a lot less income than the movie deserved and than producers expected. But all the movie viewers claim the movie to be a true gem for Nepalese Movie Industry.
Astalaxmi Shakya is a Nepalese politician and former Chief Minister of Bagmati Province. She is first woman chief minister of Nepal. Governor Bishnu Prasad Prasain appointed Shakya as the chief minister as per Article 168 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal after she was unanimously elected parliamentary party leader of the CPN (UML) on 18 August 2021, following the resignation of outgoing chief minister Dormani Poudel, as both the parliamentary party leader and chief minister. On 9th March 2023 she was chosen as a candidate in the 2023 Nepalese vice presidential election from Communist Party of Nepal (UML).

The film stars Dayahang Rai, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Rishma Gurung, Karma, Wilson Bikram Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Bijaya Baral, Puskar Gurung, Kabita Ale, and Maotse Gurung. In the film, Kaji tries to live rest of his life with Maiya's memories but he falls in love with another girl. The film generally got positive feedback from the critics. Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi is the third film in Kabaddi franchise. It is followed by its sequel Kabaddi 4: The Final Match breaking all records of Nepal.
Nischal Basnet is a Nepalese film director and actor who primarily appears in Nepali language films. He made his directorial debut in 2012 with the crime-thriller Loot and wrote screenplay for the film. The film focuses on Hakku Kale, who masterminds a bank robbery. The film received mixed reviews from the critics, some of whom criticized the script for not being original. According to The Kathmandu Post, the film "changed the discourse of the Nepali film industry". Loot earned 25.5 million Nepalese rupees, making it Nepal's highest-grossing film of 2012. Basnet went on to win the Dcine Award for Best Debut Director. In 2014, Basnet acted in and produced Ram Babu Gurung's romantic drama Kabaddi. In the film, Basnet plays Bibek, who tries to abduct a gangster's daughter. The same year, Basnet directed the dark comedy Talakjung vs Tulke. The film is set during the Nepalese Civil War, which lasted from 1996 to 2006. Basnet won the Film Critics Society of Nepal Award for Best Director and the National Film Award for Best Director. Talakjung vs Tulke was selected as the Nepalese entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.

The band was formed in 1993 by a group of school friends in Patan by releasing their first album "Anjaan". The first album was not a success. The second album Cobweb was received well with the songs like "Maryo ni Maryo" which shaped a way for Nepalese rock in the mainstream. The band is considered a trend setter in modern Nepalese music industry.
