Katy Marchant, (born 30 January 1993) is an elite English track cyclist who specialises in the sprint disciplines. She was educated at Brigshaw High School.
Originally from Leeds, Marchant was based in Manchester after her switch to cycling in April 2013. Marchant began her sporting life as a heptathlete, and represented Great Britain in that event at the 2012 World Junior Championships. The switchover was instigated by her former coach, Toni Minichiello (best known for coaching Jessica Ennis), who suggested the move to cycling having seen the results of her power output on a Wattbike test. Marchant had cycled for leisure on a mountain bike and on the road, but had no experience of track cycling. After a 6-week trial period, she permanently switched to track cycling. [2] She became a member of British Cycling's Olympic Academy in April 2013, and graduated to the Olympic Development Programme in November 2013. [3]
In 2015, she won four national titles at the 2015 British National Track Championships, they were the 500m time trial, Sprint, Keirin and the Team Sprint. [4]
At the 2018 British National Track Championships she won her second time trial and sprint titles to take her tally to six in total. Later that year she won a bronze medal in the Team sprint at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. [5]
Marchant was chosen to be part of the UK's 26-strong cycling squad for the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics where she was the sprint specialist. [6] She went on to win an Olympic Games bronze medal in the individual sprint.
Marchant won her seventh national title at the 2023 British Cycling National Track Championships, she won the Team Sprint for the second time. [7]
Sandie Clair is a French professional racing cyclist and bobsledder. She won her first title in 2005 in the national junior sprint championship. It qualified her for the European junior championship in Fiorenzuola, where she won the sprint and rode the keirin and 500m time trial. She came third in the junior world 500m championship a month later.
Kaarle McCulloch is an Australian former professional track cyclist and four time World Champion in the team sprint. She also won three golds at the Commonwealth Games and an Olympic bronze medal. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and rode in two events, the Women's Keirin where she came ninth, and the Women's Sprint where she came thirteenth.
Anna Blyth is an English racing cyclist from Leeds. She began racing at 15, having been spotted by British Cycling at Benton Park. She joined the World Class Start Programme, becoming a member of the Olympic Development Plan and the Olympic Academy.
Jessica Varnish is a former British track cyclist. Varnish was part of the 2014 world record holding European Championships team sprint champions and is a multiple medalist at the World Championships.
Rebecca Angharad James is a Welsh former professional racing cyclist specialising in track cycling. James was the 2013 world sprint and keirin champion. She is a 2016 Rio Olympics double silver medalist.
Laurine van Riessen is a long track speed skater and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Track Team BEAT Cycling Club. She competed for the Netherlands at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver in the 500, 1000, and 1500 metres and won the bronze medal in the 1000 metres. In 2015, she switched to track cycling and won a bronze medal in the team sprint at the 2015 UEC European Track Championships in Grenchen, Switzerland.
Kristina Vogel is a former German track cyclist. During her career, she won two gold medals and a bronze at the Olympic Games, and is an eleven-time UCI World Champion. She was paralysed following a crash in June 2018.

She also competed in the women's sprint at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the elder sister of track and road cyclist Fernando Gaviria. She is married to fellow track cyclist Fabián Puerta.

Ciara Maurizia Horne is a British racing cyclist. Having formerly represented Ireland at an international level, Horne has switched nationality and currently rides on the track for the Welsh Cycling backed Team USN, and also races on the road for the Breast Cancer Care racing team. Horne formed part of the Great Britain team who became 2014 European champions in the team pursuit.
Victoria "Vicky" Williamson is an elite English bobsledder and former track cyclist who specialised in the sprint disciplines. In 2013, with Rebecca James, she won the bronze medal in the team sprint at the World Track Cycling Championships.
Dannielle Jade Khan is an English racing cyclist, who currently rides for British amateur team Saint Piran WRT. She won the sprint and 500m TT events at the Juniors world championships in 2013, as well as the silver medal in the Keirin.
The 2014 British National Track Championships are a series of track cycling competitions held from 24–28 September 2014, at the Manchester Velodrome. They were organised and sanctioned by British Cycling, and were open to British cyclists.
Elis Ligtlee is a Dutch track cyclist. She represented her nation at the 2014 and 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. She won the gold medal in the keirin race at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Following her Olympic victory, Ligtlee was officially inducted to the Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Shanne Braspennincx is a Dutch track cyclist. She competed at the 2014 and 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. She won the gold medal in the keirin race at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Zhong Tianshi is a Chinese track cyclist. She represented her nation at the 2012, 2014 and 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. In 2015, she became world champion in the team sprint and won bronze in the sprint.
Ebtissam Zayed Ahmed Mohamed is an Egyptian road and track cyclist. She competed in the women's sprint event at the 2016 Summer Olympics; she placed 27th in the qualifying round and did not reach the first round. She competed in the women's omnium event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
