Emma Finucane (born 22 December 2002) is a British and Welsh track cyclist. [3] [4] She is the 2023 UCI world champion in women's individual sprint, the third Briton (after Victoria Pendleton and Becky James) and second Welsh woman (after James) to win the world title.
Having previously won two silver medals at the 2020 British National Track Championships, Finucane became a British champion when winning the team sprint event at the 2022 British National Track Championships. She also won a silver medal and two bronze medals at the same Championships. [5] [6]
Later that year, Finucane went on to win bronze medals in both the sprint and team sprint at the Commonwealth Games. [7]
Finucane was the star of the 2023 British Cycling National Track Championships, after she won four national titles (taking her total to 5). They were the 500 m Time trial, the Sprint, the Keirin and a second team sprint title. [8] [9] At the 2023 UCI World track cycling championships in Glasgow, at the Chris Hoy National velodrome, she claimed her first major title as she took gold in the women's track sprint competition, beating Lea Friedrich of Germany in the final. The first British woman to do so since Becky James in 2013. [10] During the flying 200 sprint qualifying she set a new British record and a new sea level record time of 10.234s. [11] [ circular reference ] She was also part of the British Women's Team sprint team who took silver in the same competition.
Finucane is a relative of former second world war RAF pilot Wing Commander Paddy Finucane.
Kaarle McCulloch is an Australian former professional track cyclist and four time World Champion in the team sprint. She also won three golds at the Commonwealth Games and an Olympic bronze medal. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and rode in two events, the Women's Keirin where she came ninth, and the Women's Sprint where she came thirteenth.
Anna Blyth is an English racing cyclist from Leeds. She began racing at 15, having been spotted by British Cycling at Benton Park. Sir Jason Francis Kenny, is an English former track cyclist, specialising in the individual and team sprints. Kenny is the holder of most Olympic gold medals (7) and medals (9) for a British athlete. Kenny's seven Olympic gold medals place him joint 15th by reference to gold medals won in the Summer Olympic games since 1896. He is the single holder of the records for both most Olympic golds and Olympic medals for a cyclist.
Rebecca Angharad James is a Welsh former professional racing cyclist specialising in track cycling. James was the 2013 world sprint and keirin champion. She is a 2016 Rio Olympics double silver medalist.
Kristina Vogel is a former German track cyclist. During her career, she won two gold medals and a bronze at the Olympic Games, and is an eleven-time UCI World Champion. She was paralysed following a crash in June 2018.
Denis Sergeyevich Dmitriev is a Russian track cyclist. Specialising in the sprint events, Dmitriev's best result in international sports was winning a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in Hong Kong. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he succeeded to the bronze medal race in sprint, winning the medal. Dmitriev is a four-time European Champion at senior level in the Sprint event for men, and the most successful sprint cyclist in the competitions's history.
Elinor Jane Barker is a Welsh road and track racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Team Uno-X Pro Cycling Team. Representing Great Britain in international competitions, Barker is an Olympic champion, a three-time World champion and seven-time European champion in the team pursuit, as well as a three-time World champion in the points and scratch races, a World champion in the Madison, a two-time European Madison champion and one time European Elimination race champion. Representing Wales, Barker was also the 2018 Commonwealth Games Points race champion.
Dannielle Jade Khan is an English racing cyclist, who currently rides for British amateur team Saint Piran WRT. She won the sprint and 500m TT events at the Juniors world championships in 2013, as well as the silver medal in the Keirin.
Kian Emadi-Coffin is a former British track cyclist. He has represented Great Britain and England at international level, and is a three-time British National Track champion. Originally a sprinter, he transferred following injury to the endurance squad, and in 2018 won a gold medal as part of the team pursuit squad for Great Britain at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.

Lewis Oliva is a Welsh racing cyclist from Monmouthshire, Wales, who has ridden on the track for the Welsh Cycling backed professional track team since September 2016. Prior to this he was part of the Great Britain cycling team for eight years as a sprint athlete.
Callum Skinner is a British former track cyclist. He won the silver medal in the individual sprint at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was a member of the British team that won gold in the team sprint.
