Berwyn Price

Berwyn Price (born 15 August 1951) is a former Welsh international athlete. Price was born in Tredegar, Monmouthshire, and studied at Lewis School, Pengam [1] and the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. [2]

A member of the Cardiff Amateur Athletic Club, Price won the silver medal in the 110-metre hurdles at the 1974 British Commonwealth Games and the gold medal in the same event at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. [3] [4] Price also competed for Great Britain at the 1972 Munich and the 1976 Montreal Olympics in the 110-metre hurdles. [2]

Price later became Assistant Director of Leisure for Swansea City Council, Head of Sports Tourism for Swansea and project manager for the "White Rock" project to replace the Morfa Stadium.

David "Dai" Greene is a British hurdler who specialises in the 400 metres hurdles, competing internationally for both Wales and Great Britain. In a 'golden' sixteen-month period between 2010 and 2011, Greene dominated the event at international level, winning the World, European, Diamond League and Commonwealth titles in quick succession, in addition to winning the event as part of both the European Team Championships and the IAAF Continental Cup. Hindered by a knee injury, Greene finished in 4th at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the same injury prevented him from being competitive at global level thereafter.

Cardiff Amateur Athletic Club, formed in 1882 as Roath (Cardiff) Harriers, is an athletics club based at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium, Cardiff. The club began as a cross country club, the first athletics only club in Wales. Roath Harriers runners became individual and team champions of the first Welsh Cross Country Championships, held on 7 March 1894. Roath Harriers shared Maindy Stadium with Birchgrove Harriers from its opening in 1951 and the two clubs amalgamated to form Cardiff Amateur Athletic Club in 1968. Cardiff were British Athletics League champions in 1973, 1974, and 1975 and remain one of the top twelve clubs in Britain.

Kay Morley-Brown is a British former athlete who competed in the 100 metres hurdles. Athletics has a long history in Wales, with many events recognised today codified during the Victorian period. The first amateur athletic clubs in Wales were formed in the 1870s, while the first championships began in the early 20th century. Wales began competing as a country in international athletic events in the 1920s and has since produced a notable number of world class sportspeople including many medal winning Commonwealth, World, Olympic, Paralympic and European champions. Wales competes in the Commonwealth Games under its own flag but at the Olympic Games, Welsh athletes compete alongside those of Scotland, England and Northern Ireland as part of a Great Britain team.

Malcolm Collins is an ex-amateur boxer from Cardiff, Wales, who competed in the lightweight division. Never turning professional he is notable for represented Wales in two Commonwealth Games winning silver in both the 1954 Games in Vancouver and the 1958 Games in Cardiff.

London Athletic Club (LAC) is a track and field club based in London, England. It is the oldest independent track and field club in the world and celebrated its first 150 years in 2013. More than sixty athletes connected with the club have since become Olympians and top athletics administrators in Britain. The club is currently based at Barn Elms, in West London.

Lauren Louise Price is a Welsh professional boxer, former amateur boxer and former kickboxer and footballer. While representing Wales in the amateur sport she won a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, becoming the first Welsh woman to win a Commonwealth Games boxing medal. Four years later she surpassed this achievement by winning gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, followed by a gold at the 2019 World Championships. While representing Great Britain, she won gold medals at the 2019 European Games and 2020 Summer Olympics.
