J-pop, natively also known simply as pops, is the name for a form of popular music that entered the musical mainstream of Japan in the 1990s. Modern J-pop has its roots in traditional music of Japan, and significantly in 1960s pop and rock music. J-pop replaced kayōkyoku, a term for Japanese popular music from the 1920s to the 1980s in the Japanese music scene.
Because I Can is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Katy Rose. V2 Records released the album on January 27, 2004. Rose co-wrote Because I Can with her father, Kim Bullard, who also produced the album. Rose additionally worked with songwriters including Stuart Mathis, Holly Mathis, River Jones, Billy Mohler, and Danny Dunlap. Because I Can's lyrical themes revolve around depression, rebellion, and innocence.
"D.D.D." is a song recorded by Japanese recording artist Kumi Koda, taken from her second greatest hits album, Best ~second session~ (2005). It contains guest vocals from Japanese music duo Soulhead. It was written by Soulhead members and sisters Yoshika and Tsugumi, with production being done by Octopussy. The song is Kumi's first collaborative effort since her single "Hot Stuff" with Japanese rapper KM-MARKIT, which was released a month prior. As part of Kumi's 12 Singles Collection releases, "D.D.D." premiered on December 21, 2005, as the third single from the album. The CD cover sleeve has Kumi wearing a black mini-dress and headdress. The cover sleeve is to represent the country United Kingdom, and its symbolism of Britannia.
"Overdrive" is a song by American singer-songwriter Katy Rose from her debut studio album Because I Can (2004). It was released to radio as the lead single from the album on July 28, 2003, by V2 Records. The song was written by Rose and Kim Bullard, whilst production was helmed solely by Bullard. According to Rose, the song is about feelings of angst and self-discovery that she experienced as a teenager. "Overdrive" was featured on the soundtrack to the teen comedy film Mean Girls (2004).
"Hoshi no Yō ni..." is a song recorded by Japanese singer Misia, from her ninth studio album, Just Ballade. It was released simultaneously with the album on December 16, 2009, through Ariola Japan. "Hoshi no Yō ni..." is the theme song to the kaiju film Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy.
Jasmine, is a Japanese singer and songwriter from Tokyo. She is represented by Sony Music Japan, and is a DJ for the Japanese radio station J-Wave. In June 2009 she released her debut single "Sad to Say". Described as "the next Hikaru Utada", Jasmine cites Utada as her influence.
Halcali Bacon (ハルカリベーコン) is the first album released by Halcali. It reached number five on the Oricon chart in Japan, and stayed on the chart for 21 weeks, making it the first album by a female hip-hop artist to enter the top ten in Japanese history. Halcali's debut album featured many well-known Japanese hiphop producers as guests, as well. Drowned in Sound's Samual Rosean, in a 2018 article on Shibuya-kei, a micro-genre of Japanese pop combining very different styles, noted that in 2003 it was a "prominent release", alongside releases by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box and Bo En.
Change Myself is the debut Japanese-language studio album by South Korean singer-born in Japan Iconiq, released on March 10, 2010. The album was initially planned for a February 24 release, which was postponed for two weeks.
"Nirai Kanai" (ニライカナイ) is a song by Japanese singer-songwriter Cocco, that was released as the lead single for her seventh original album, Emerald on June 9, 2010.

"Flower Power" is the sixth Japanese single released by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. The single was released on November 14, 2012, via digital download on iTunes Japan, with a limited physical release on November 21, 2012. It serves as the third single from their second Japanese studio album, Girls & Peace (2012). Despite limited release, "Flower Power" sold 29,000 copies in its first week, peaking at number five on the Oricon Singles Chart; the single also reached number six on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
"Kanashimi yo Konnichi wa" is the fifth single by Japanese singer Yuki Saito. Written by Yukinojo Mori and Kōji Tamaki, the single was released March 21, 1986, by Canyon Records together with "Ohikkoshi, Wasuremono".
Super Best Records: 15th Celebration is the second greatest hits album by Japanese singer Misia. It was released to commemorate Misia's 15th anniversary as a recording artist by Ariola Japan on February 20, 2013, one day shy of her actual 15th anniversary. The three-disc set was released in Blu-spec CD2 format and each disc was remastered by a different music engineer. The compilation includes four reworked tracks, the singles "Koi wa Owaranai Zutto", "Deepness" and "Back in Love Again", and the new song "Holiday", which was released as a promotional single for the album.

It's the second song that Utada delivers to the series, after Flavor of Life in 2007.

Ai collaborated with various Japanese and American producers, including longtime collaborator Uta and Bernard "Harv" Harvey, the latter produced her 2021 extended play, It's All Me, Vol. 2.
