Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (known as English-language Public District School Board No. 14 prior to 1999 [1] ) is a public, secular, English language school board headquartered in Peterborough, Ontario. It is the amalgamation of the former Peterborough County Board of Education and the Northumberland-Clarington Board of Education and serves the communities located in the Kawarthas to the north, and south to Lake Ontario. Hastings County is its eastern border and its western border extends to the City of Kawartha Lakes and to the edge of the City of Oshawa. [2]

PACE at Peterborough Collegiate, formerly Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School, is a public secondary school located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada and is a member of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. It is one of the oldest public schools in the country and was the only public high school in the city of Peterborough until the opening of Kenner Collegiate Vocational Institute in 1952. Regular student programming ended at Peterborough Collegiate Vocational School in June 2012. The Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League was a junior ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Association. The "Central" played inter-league games with the Empire Junior "C" League. The champion of the Central competed for the All-Ontario Championship and the Clarence Schmalz Cup. The league is now a division in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

Clarke High School is a public secondary school in Newcastle, Ontario, Canada, within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board. It is the only secondary school in Newcastle, and has three feeder schools: Newcastle Public School, Orono Public School, and The Pines Senior Public School.

Ganaraska Region is a region located in Ontario, Canada, stretching along the shore of Lake Ontario for approximately 45 kilometres (28 mi) and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) wide. It contains watersheds, covering an area of 700 square kilometres (270 sq mi) from Wilmot Creek in Clarington to eastside of Cobourg and from the southern shore of Rice Lake down to Lake Ontario. This expansive area includes seven municipalities in whole or in part: Township of Cavan Monaghan, Town of Cobourg, Township of Alnwick/Haldimand, Township of Hamilton, Municipality of Port Hope, City of Kawartha Lakes, Municipality of Clarington.

King's Highway 45, commonly referred to as Highway 45, was a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The 54.1-kilometre-long (33.6 mi) route connected Highway 2 in downtown Cobourg with Highway 7 in Norwood. In addition to the towns at either end, it bisected the communities of Baltimore, Fenella, Alderville, Roseneath and Hastings.
