Kazi Krishnokoli Islam is a Bangladeshi singer and lyricist. [1] She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the film Monpura (2009). [2]

Career

Krishnokoli was born and raised in Khulna. [3] She got music lessons from her mother Meherun Nesa, Shadhon Ghosh and Basudeb Biswas. [3] She was enrolled in Chhayanaut in 1998.

Krishnokoli released her debut album "Shurjey Bandhi Basha" in 2007. [4] In 2011, her second album "Alor Pithey Andhar" was released. [5]

Krishnokoli is involved with "Biplabi Nari Shanghati", a women's rights organization. [6] She worked for an audio/visual company before working with the production house, Krishnochura, as a creative director between 2005 and 2006. [5] Krishnokoli performs onstage with Arko Sumon on guitar. [7]

Monpura, is a 2009 Bangladeshi Bengali film, directed by Giasuddin Selim. The film was remade into Indian Bengali in 2010 as Achin Pakhi, which was directed by Anjan Das. Monpura is a romantic tragedy film set in rural Bangladesh. As Selim's large-screen debut, and contemporary-folk soundtrack released ahead of screening which were an instant hit, it received a huge media hype even before its release. The shooting took place in various locations, including Dhunat in Bogra, Kushtia and Dhaka.

Somnur Monir Konal is a Bangladeshi singer and television host who is best known as a playback singer for Bangladeshi films. She got her start in the entertainment industry by winning the musical reality show Channel i Shera Kontho in 2009. Since then she has recorded songs for dozens of films, hosted various television shows, and judged the 2019 edition of children's musical reality show Ganer Raja. In 2016, she and Belal Khan shared the Symphony-Channel i Music Award in the category best playback singer for their duet "Jotodin Dhore Bachi" in the 2015 film Ochena Hridoy. She received the Bharat Bangladesh Film Award in 2019 in the category Best Playback-singer Female (Bangladesh).
