Kees Akerboom Trophy

The Kees Akerboom Trophy (in Dutch: Kees Akerboom Trofee) is an individual award that is yearly given to the player with the most three-point field goals made in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) given since 2001. [1] The award is handed out after the regular season. The award is named after Kees Akerboom, Sr.

Kees Akerboom Jr. is a retired Dutch basketball player. Kees is the son of Kees Akerboom Sr., a former successful professional basketball player as well. During the majority of his career, Akerboom played with Den Bosch, which he won three DBL championships with. He also played for the Netherlands national basketball team during his career.

The 2009–10 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 50th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. GasTerra Flames dominated throughout the regular season and lost just three games. Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden player Danny Gibson was league top scorer and won the Most Valuable Player award. GasTerra Flames eventually won its third title in team history, by beating World Class Aviation Academy Giants 4–1 in the playoff finals.

Sander Hollanders is a Dutch basketball player who plays for BAL in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). Standing at 194 cm, he plays as shooting guard. He also plays for the Netherlands national team.
