Keithian D. Sammons, known mononymously as "Keithian", is an American R&B and Jazz singer/songwriter, actor and filmmaker. He gained recognition in 2021 for producing the 2021 American horror Blackstock Boneyardand the Apple music's Rap Life Live Series. He was a member of the pre-teen group N-Toon before leaving to pursue an solo career. [1] He wrote Gs Boyz 2009 Debut Stanky Legg that charted No 7 on the US Billboard Hot Rap Tracks and No 49 on US Billboard Hot 100. In 2010 Keithian signed with Virgin Records but left the label after 5 years to release music independently. His 2021 project "Chance" which was released on the 18th of August 2021 entered Mediabase’s top 40 singles chart and SiriusXM’s Heart & Soul Top 20 peaking at Number 8.
Keithian was born in Longview, Texas, and raised in Lakeport, Texas, and Bastrop and New Orleans, Louisiana. His grandfather taught him the saxophone and he played in his family's jazz band while touring with a youth gospel choir, until joining a boy group. [2] [3]
In 2010 Keithian signed with Virgin Records but left after 5 years due to being frustrated after Virgin was sold to EMI which caused some failed attempts to release of his music. [4] [5]
After leaving the major label system, he wrote and produced for various artist.
After a short hiatus from his artistry, he released "Birds" in 2019 which garnered his return as an independent artist. In November 2020 he released a 5-tracked solo Extended Play "To My Pain" [6] [7] [8] [9] On 30 June 2021 he released "Go Bae" [10] [11] On 18 August 2021 he Released "Chance" which entered the Top 40 on Mediabase’s single chart and SiriusXM’s Heart & Soul Top 20 peaking at Number 8. [12] [13] [14] [15] On November 3, 2021 he released a solo project titled "Guaranteed" which peaked at Number 2 on Spotify’s Jazz Charts. [16] On the 20th of April 2022 he released his debut Album "Green Clouds" [17] [18] [19] [20] on May 12, 2023 he released another solo project titled "Bullshit". [21] [22]
In 2006 he starred as Djabu in Edward Zwick's 2006 film Blood Diamond . [23] In 2021 he produced Blackstock Boneyard under his production company WorKs Entertainment Group, the American horror slasher film was then released on June 8, 2021. [24] [25]
Keithian collaborated with American R&B singer Vedo at The howard theatre on his Mood swings album tour in May 13, 2023 amongst others. [26] [27]
