"Kemama" is a song performed by Czech singer Benny Cristo. It was chosen to represent the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, after winning the country's national final. [1] The song was released as a digital download on 20 January 2020.

Eurovision Song Contest

The song would have represented the Czech Republic in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 after Benny Cristo was chosen through Eurovision Song CZ, the national selection process organised by Česká televize, to select the Czech Republic's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. On 28 January 2020, a special allocation draw was held which placed each country into one of the two semi-finals, as well as selecting which half of the show they would perform in. Czech Republic was placed into the second semi-final, to be held on 14 May 2020, and was scheduled to perform in the first half of the show.

The Czech Republic has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 10 times since making its debut in 2007. After receiving nul points in the semi-final of the 2009 contest and a lack of interest from the Czech public, Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) decided not to participate in future contests. The song was performed by Marta Jandová and Václav Noid Bárta, who were internally selected by the Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) to represent the nation at the 2015 contest in Vienna, Austria. The Czech broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) announced in November 2014 that it would be returning the Eurovision Song Contest after a five-year absence. Jandová and Bárta and the song "Hope Never Dies" were announced as the Czech entry on 31 January 2015. The song was presented to the public on 10 March 2015.

Ukraine originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "Solovey" written by Taras Shevchenko and Kateryna Pavlenko and performed by Go_A. Ukraine returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after the nation withdrew from the 2019 due to contractual disagreements with their representative Maruv on conditions of taking part in the Ukrainian delegation. The Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne organised a national final in collaboration with commercial broadcaster STB in order to select the Ukrainian entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
