Vineeth Sreenivasan is an Indian playback singer, actor, film director, screenwriter, producer, lyricist, creative director and dubbing artist. He predominantly works in the Malayalam cinema. He is the elder son of actor and screenwriter Sreenivasan.
Kaviyoor Ponnamma is an Indian actress who appears in Malayalam films and television. She began her career performing in theatre dramas before foraying into cinema. She has also acted in TV serials and commercials and has playback singing credits in few films. Ponnamma is a four-time Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress winner. Her sister Kaviyoor Renuka was also an actress. Often called as the Mother to all actors, she has acted as mother of almost all actors in her career panning over decades. At the age of 20, she played the mother of Sathyan and Madhu in the 1965 movie Thommente Makkal. She gained critical acclaim for acting as the mother of the actor Mohanlal.
The Kerala State Film Award for Best Director is an honour presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India since 1969. It is given to a film director who has exhibited outstanding direction while working in the Malayalam film industry. Until 1997, the awards were managed directly by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala. Since 1998, the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, an autonomous non-profit organisation functioning under the Department of Cultural Affairs, has been exercising control over the awards. The recipients are decided by an independent jury formed by the academy. They are declared by the Minister for Cultural Affairs and are presented by the Chief Minister.
The Kerala Film Critics Association Awards are presented annually by the Kerala Film Critics Association to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Malayalam language film industry of India. The awards were instituted in 1977.
Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor, playback singer and film producer who predominantly works in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from Purdue University and worked as a business manager in Dubai before pursuing a career in acting. Dulquer is a recipient of several awards including, five Filmfare Awards South and a Kerala State Film Award.
Sayyed Hesham Abdul Wahab is an Indian music director, Music Producer, singer and audio engineer. Best known for his compositions for the soundtrack of the 2022 Malayalam film Hridayam and the music album Qadham Badha produced by British singer-songwriter Sami Yusuf. Wahab is the recipient of 2021 Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director for the soundtrack of the film Hridayam.
V C Abhilash is an Indian film director and actor who works in Malayalam cinema. He began his career as a director and screenwriter in 2018 with the film Aalorukkam. The film was awarded in the 65th National Film Awards, and received the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.
Aavasavyuham: The Arbit Documentation of An Amphibian Hunt also more commonly known as Aavasavyuham is a 2022 Indian Malayalam language mockumentary science fiction comedy film written and directed by Krishand. The film stars Rahul Rajagopal, Sreenath Babu, Sreejith Babu, Zhinz Shan in the lead roles, Technical crew for the movie is Chief Associate Director Vysakh Reetha,Editing by Rakesh Cherumadam and Cinematography by Vishnu Prabhakar. The approach used to depict the storyline in the film was inspired from Warren Beatty's directorial Reds and Christopher Nolan's directorial Interstellar. The film was streamed via SonyLIV from 4 August 2022 as a LIV originals opening to positive reviews from critics. The film also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Film in 2021 and Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay in 2021. Film critic Anna M. M. Vetticad ranked it third in her year-end list of best Malayalam films of 2022.
King of Kotha is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language period action thriller film directed by Abhilash Joshiy in his directorial debut. Jointly produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios, the film stars an ensemble cast of Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, Shammi Thilakan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Sajitha Madathil, Shanthi Krishna, Saran Shakthi and Anikha Surendran. The cinematography and editing were handled by Nimish Ravi and Shyam Sasidharan, while the music was composed by Jakes Bejoy and Shaan Rahman.
