Kevin Manthei (born 1970 in Maplewood, Minnesota) is an American composer for film, television, and video games.

Biography

Manthei grew up in Minnesota. He played the piano in his youth and played the trumpet in high school. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Music degree in Theory and Composition. He also studied at the University of Southern California under Jerry Goldsmith. He has collaborated with other graduates of the program, Christophe Beck and Marco Beltrami, writing additional music for Beck on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and other shows, and composing additional music for Beltrami on films including Scream 2 , Scream 3 , The Faculty , Scary Movie 2 and Resident Evil . Manthei began his game writing career working on titles such as Panzer General II , Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption , Sacrifice , Wizardry 8 , Twisted Metal: Black . His other work on video game titles includes Kung Fu Panda , Marvel Universe Online , Upshift Strikeracer , Xiaolin Showdown , Ultimate Spider-Man , City of Villains , The Sims 2 , StarCraft: Ghost , Shrek 2, Silent Hunter II , and Shark Tale .

For his work on Invader Zim , Manthei received an Annie Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music for an animated series. [3] Invader Zim also led to Xiaolin Showdown for Warner Bros. Animation as well as Brandy & Mr. Whiskers for Disney. In scoring with Warner Bros' television series Johnny Test , he provided the punk rock-infused main title and score to the first season. Manthei also created music for shows like Cartoon Network's Generator Rex and Adult Swim's Robot Chicken .

Manthei has also worked on scores for independent filmmakers such as The 24th Day . He wrote the music for the feature films Justice League: The New Frontier and Batman: Gotham Knight and scored the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man . [4]

Robert Joseph Kral is an Australian film and television composer. He is best known for composing music scores for horror, superhero, and many animated WB productions. He scored the TV series, Angel, for most of the entire series. In February 2005, a soundtrack album, Angel: Live Fast, Die Never, was released, with 18 out of 25 tracks composed by Kral. He also composed the scores for the TV series Miracles (2003) for ABC / Touchstone, Jake 2.0 (2003–04), Duck Dodgers (2003–05) for Warner Bros. Animation, The Inside (2005) for Fox Television, and the Lionsgate / Sci Fi series, The Lost Room (2006). Batman: Gotham Knight is a 2008 Japanese-American adult animated superhero anthology film based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. The film consists of six segments produced by Japanese animation studios Studio 4°C, Madhouse, Bee Train and Production I.G in association with DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation. Set between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the segments in the film depict Batman battling against the mob of Gotham City, as well as other villains. Animation between 2001 and 2007, followed by President, International Productions of Sony Pictures Television between 2007 and 2009, and was President of FremantleMedia's Kids and Family Entertainment Division from 2009 through 2013. From 2013 to 2015 he was CEO of IPSP Global Financial Services LLC, the American arm of DengiOnline, the largest online electronics payments platform in Russia and the C.I.S., specializing in the distribution of video games for and micro-transactions within gaming for all platforms. Batman: Assault on Arkham is a 2014 direct-to-video animated superhero film that is the 21st film of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Based on the Batman: Arkham video game franchise, the film was directed by Jay Oliva and Ethan Spaulding, produced by James Tucker, and written by Heath Corson. It was first screened at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2014, and it was released digitally on July 29 and on physical media on August 12.
