Kevin James McComb QSM (born 1945or1946) [1] is a former New Zealand cyclist and cycling administrator. He represented his country at the 1978 Commonwealth Games, competing in the men's sprint, where he was eliminated in the second-round repechages. [2] [3] He was also originally selected to compete in the men's tandem sprint, but was replaced by Mike Fabish after showing poor form in the lead-up to the games. [4] [5] [6]
In 1987, McComb established the Whakatāne Cycling Club, and served as club president for 32 years, until 2019. In that capacity, he was involved in all aspects of the club's operation, organised community events to promote cycling safety, and led fundraising activities to support local sport cyclists from beginners to elite athletes. For many years, he wrote a weekly cycling column for the Whakatane Beacon newspaper. McComb was made a life member of the Whakatāne Cycling Club in 2021, and he was awarded the Queen's Service Medal, for services to cycling, in the 2023 New Year Honours. [7]

The New Zealand Olympic Committee was represented by 89 competitors, 82 men and 7 women, who took part in 63 events in 14 sports.
New Zealand competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. 130 competitors, 98 men and 32 women, took part in 76 events in 18 sports. The country recorded 11 medals, including eight golds, resulting in the nation ranking among the top ten in the medal table.

He is the single holder of the records for both most Olympic golds and Olympic medals for a cyclist.
Robert Nathan Twaddle is a New Zealand former rower and Olympic medallist. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, in the coxless pair rowing with his partner George Bridgewater and won a bronze medal.
New Zealand at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games was represented by a team of 85 competitors and 11 officials. Selection of the team for the Games in Perth, Western Australia, was the responsibility of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Games Association. New Zealand's flagbearer at the opening ceremony was runner Murray Halberg. The New Zealand team finished third on the medal table, winning a total of 32 medals, ten of which were gold.

Sam Webster is a former New Zealand track cyclist. He was the sprint, keirin and team sprint World Champion at the 2009 Junior World Championships and New Zealand national track cycling champion. He won gold medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the individual sprint and the team sprint.

Stephanie Morton, is a retired Australian track cyclist. She has won national and international cycling titles, and was Felicity Johnson's tandem pilot at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where she won a gold medal.
Natasha Hansen is a New Zealand track cyclist who has represented her country at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. Hansen competed at the 2018 Gold Coast games and won two silver medals in the sprint & team sprint, and a bronze in the keirin.
Neil Michael Fachie is a Scottish cyclist and former track athlete, competing in events for people with a visual impairment. Fachie has competed in two Paralympics, as a sprinter in the 2008 Games in Beijing and as a tandem cyclist in London 2012. In London he won the gold medal in the Men's individual 1 km time trial and silver in the individual sprint, both with Barney Storey as his sighted pilot. Outside of the Paralympic Games, Fachie is a nineteen-time world champion and 5 times Commonwealth Games champion, creating tandem partnerships with Barney Storey, Pete Mitchell, and Olympians Craig MacLean and Matt Rotherham.
Helen Sarah Scott, is an English sprint cyclist. As well as competing as part of the Great Britain team Scott is also an able-bodied tandem cyclist, who since 2011 has acted as pilot for Paralympian Aileen McGlynn, Sophie Thornhill and Alison Patrick.
Ellesse Andrews is a New Zealand racing cyclist. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Women's keirin, winning a silver medal.
Kevin Edward Blackwell was a New Zealand road and track cyclist who won a silver medal in the team pursuit representing his country at the 1978 Commonwealth Games.
