Kashi Ananda Leuchs from Dunedin, New Zealand is a former world class cross country mountain biker who represented New Zealand in mountain biking at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, the 2004 games in Athens and the 2008 Games in Beijing. He also competed in the 2002 and 2006 Commonwealth Games, both in mountain biking and road racing finishing fourth in the 2002 Mountain Bike Cross Country.
Sean Patrick Wade is a long-distance runner from New Zealand, who represented his native country in the men's marathon at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. There he finished in 83rd place. Wade was also a member of the Kiwi team at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, where he ended up in 11th position in the men's steeplechase. Now representing the United States, Wade has competed continuously since his time as an elite open athlete. In 2016, he set several age group world records in masters' athletics.

Coached by Arthur Lydiard, Puckett was the first New Zealander to complete a marathon in under two hours and 30 minutes.
