Kevin Staut (born 15 November 1980) is a French equestrian. [1] His specialty is show jumping, either individually or as part of a team. He has received medals at the Show Jumping French Junior Championships, the Show Jumping European Championship for Young Riders, the Show Jumping European Championships, and the Show Jumping World Championships. He placed 34th at the 2012 Summer Olympics and is currently ranked sixth on the FEI Rolex Ranking List. [2]
Staut is recognized as a JustWorld International Rider Ambassador, and frequently donates his time and talent to helping the organization fracture the cycle of poverty for children around the world.
Kevin Staut was born 15 November 1980 in Le Chesnay, France. [3] When his mother's horse, Apollon, retired in Normandy, he became immediately fascinated in horseback riding. [3] When Staut was in his fifth year of secondary school, he left the school system to follow correspondence courses. [3] In 1996, he left to stay with Michael Hécart and received an opportunity to ride "some top-quality horses". [3]
In 2000, Staut won the gold medal at the Show Jumping European Championship for Young Riders on the horse Crocodile Man and then went on to work with Hubert Bourdy for a year and a half. [3] In July 2007, Staut, the newest member of the French national equestrian team, went to Aachen, Germany, where his team placed tenth. [3] Soon after, he was selected again for the team to be a part for the European Championships in Mannheim, Germany. [3]
On 30 August 2009, Staut won the gold prize at the Show Jumping European Championships for individual jumping. [3] The next year he was part of the Show Jumping World Championships, where his team ranked second. When he went back to the European Championships, his team ranked second again. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Staut advanced to Round A of the final round for individual jumping, where he ended in thirty-fourth place on Silvana. [4] Staut was also part of the French team for team jumping, where the team ranked twelfth and Staut personally received four faults. [5] He was later named the President of the International Jumping Riders Club. [6]
Staut enjoys reading Dan Brown and Guillaume Musso. [7] He also watches DVDs, as he has little time for going to a cinema, and particularly enjoys horror films and Clint Eastwood movies. [7]

The Selle Français (SF) is a breed of sport horse from France. An athletic horse with good gaits, it is usually bay or chestnut in color. The Selle Français was created in 1958 when several French riding horse breeds were merged into one stud book. The new breed was meant to serve as a unified sport horse during a period when horses were being replaced by mechanization and were transforming into an animal used mainly for sport and leisure.
Philippa Rachel "Pippa" Funnell MBE is an equestrian sportswoman who competes in eventing. In 2003, she became the first person to win the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing. She also won Badminton in 2002 and 2005. At the European Championships, she has won two Individual golds (1999–2001) and three team golds (1999–2003). She is a three-time Olympic medallist, winning team silver in 2000 and 2004, and an individual bronze in 2004. She also competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
William Speed Lane Fox-Pitt is an English equestrian who competes in eventing. His career highlights include winning three Olympic medals in the team event, with silver in 2004 and 2012, and bronze in 2008. At the World Equestrian Games, he won team gold and individual silver in 2010, and team silver and individual bronze in 2014. He also won World team medals in 2002 and 2006. At the European Championships, he has won six team gold medals, as well as Individual silver in 1997 and 2005, and Individual bronze in 2013. He is the recordman CCI*****'s winner with 14 grand slam titles. In 2011, he became the first rider to win five different five-star events, having won the Burghley Horse Trials a record six times, Rolex Kentucky three times, Stars of Pau twice, the Badminton Horse Trials twice, and the Luhmühlen Horse Trials once (2008). A serious fall in 2015 left him in a coma for two weeks, but he came back to make the British eventing team and attend the 2016 Summer Olympics. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2018 Birthday Honours.
Bruce Oram Davidson is an American equestrian who competes in the sport of eventing. He grew up in a family uninterested in horses, but began to compete in Pony Club events after a family friend introduced him to riding. He began college at Iowa State University, but left in his third year to train full-time with the United States Equestrian Team. In 1974, he married, and his two children were born in 1976 and 1977. His son, Bruce Davidson Jr., has followed in his footsteps to become a top eventing rider.
James Cunningham Wofford was an American equestrian who competed in many international competitions in the sport of eventing. He was most known as a trainer of both horses and riders, and as a retired president of the AHSA and vice-president of the USET.
Gerco Bernardus Schröder is a Dutch show jumping equestrian. He currently ranks third on the FEI Rolex Ranking List.
Michael Whitaker is a British Olympic equestrian rider, who competes in the sport of show jumping. He was ranked 5th by the British Showjumping Association in March 2014.
Elizabeth Madden is an American Olympic champion equestrian competing in show jumping. She has two Olympic golds and one silver in team jumping, and an individual bronze. She won the FEI Show Jumping World Cup twice; won two silvers and two bronzes at World Championships; and won two golds, one silver and two bronzes at the Pan American Games. She was the first American to break into the international top three show jumping ranking, and the first woman to win over one million dollars in show jumping prize money.

Benjamin Richard Maher MBE is a British show jumper. He represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2009 European Championships in Windsor, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics. He won the team jumping gold at the London Olympics with Team GB, their first team jumping gold medal for 60 years, an individual gold for Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and team jumping gold again at the 2024 Paris Summer Games. That win tied him with three-day eventer Richard Meade and dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin as the most successful British Olympic equestrians.

Carl Hester is a British dressage rider competing at Olympic level. As of 8 August 2012, the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) rank him 12th in the world riding Uthopia. In 2012, Hester formed part of the Great Britain Dressage team that won gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Scott Brash MBE is a Scottish showjumper. He began riding the horse Hello Sanctos in early 2012. They competed as part of the British Team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London winning a gold medal in the team jumping event. In 2015, he became the first rider to win show jumping's Rolex Grand Slam, all three of the sport's most prestigious events in a single year, earning the sport's biggest individual prize of €1 million (£735,000).
Jonathan "Jock" Paget is a New Zealand equestrian who won a bronze medal in Team eventing at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In 2013 he became only the second rider to win the Badminton Horse Trials on debut after fellow New Zealander Mark Todd.
Michael Jung is a German equestrian who competes in eventing and show jumping. A four-time Olympic gold medallist, he won individual and team gold at the 2012 London Olympics, followed by individual gold and team silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the individual gold for the third time at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was inducted into the Eventing Rider Association Hall of Fame in 2013, and in 2016 he became only the second rider in history to win the Grand Slam of Eventing.

Laetitia du Couëdic de Kerérant is a Franco-Swiss equestrian rider. Her specialty is show jumping, either individually or as part of a team. She was Swiss junior champion in Lugano Switzerland in August 2013, a month after she won a gold medal at The European championship at Vejer de la Frontera Spain. Laetitia du Couëdic started her official CSI programme in 2015 at the CSI5* in Zurich riding Elisa followed by Cagnes-sur-mer France on her recently acquired Cheyenne 111 Z HDC. In October 2013, she won the Grand Prix U25 CSI at Chevenez (JU) and was a wild card entry for the CHI Geneva in Geneva where she was the youngest rider. Laetitia du Couëdic is ambassador of Hermès, the French Luxury goods maker. She is also an ambassador of JustWorld international, a charity project. In 2017 she won the Fontainebleau Grand Prix (CSIOY - Fontainebleau and was Bronze medal at Swiss championships. Laetitia has been selected for the Swiss team competing at the European Championships in Samorin where she ranked 17th. She rides regularly the "Saut Hermès" in Paris, The Rolex Grand-Prix in Geneva.
The team show jumping event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 6–7 August 2021 at the Baji Koen. Like all other equestrian events, the jumping competition was open-gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 60 riders from 20 nations competed. The event was won by team Sweden, which included Peder Fredricson, the silver medalist in the individual event. The United states were second, and Belgium third.
