The Sixth Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 9 April 2019 and 29 May 2020, where Kielsen VI Cabinet took over. It was a coalition minority government consisting of Siumut and Descendants of Our Country. [1]

Prime Minister of Greenland

The prime minister of Greenland, officially referred to as the premier, is the head of the Government of Greenland, the autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark. The incumbent prime minister is Kim Kielsen of the Siumut party. The prime minister is usually leader of the majority party in the Parliament of Greenland. Jonathan Motzfeldt became prime minister after home rule was granted to Greenland in 1979.

Siumut is a political party in Greenland in the social democratic tradition. Since the establishment of home rule in 1979, it has been the dominant party in Greenland. Siumut is led by Kim Kielsen, the current Prime Minister of Greenland.

The Inatsisartut, also known as the Parliament of Greenland in English, is the unicameral parliament of Greenland, an autonomous territory in the Danish realm. Established in 1979, it meets in Inatsisartut, on the islet of Nuuk Center in central Nuuk.

Mette Frederiksen is a Danish politician who has been Prime Minister of Denmark since June 2019 and Leader of the Social Democrats since June 2015. The second woman to hold either office, she is also the youngest Prime Minister in Danish history.

Aleqa Hammond Prime Minister of Greenland since 2013

Aleqa Hammond is a Greenlandic politician and former member of the Danish Folketing (parliament). Formerly the leader of the Siumut party, she became Greenland's first female Prime Minister after her party emerged as the largest parliamentary faction in the 2013 elections. In 2014 she stepped down as Prime Minister and leader of Siumut, following a case of misuse of public funds. She was expelled from Siumut on 23 August 2016 after yet another case of misuse of public funds and became an independent. On 31 March 2018 she announced that she would be running in the 2018 Greenlandic parliamentary election for the Siumut breakaway Nunatta Qitornai.

Kim Kielsen is a Greenlandic politician, leader of the Siumut party, and current Prime Minister of Greenland.

The First Cabinet of Kim Kielsen is the current government of the Greenland. It was appointed on 10 December 2014 with Kim Kielsen from Forward (Siumut) as Prime Minister, making a coalition between Forward (Siumut), Democrats (Demokraatit) and Solidarity (Atassut). It is a majority government and is right and left winged government.

The Second Cabinet of Kim Kielsen is the incumbent Government of Greenland, in office since 2 February 2016. It is a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Demokraatit and Atassut.

General elections were held in Greenland on 24 April 2018, electing all 31 members of Parliament. The elections were required to be held no later than 26 November 2018, four years after the previous elections on 27 November 2014, but Prime Minister Kim Kielsen chose to call the elections seven months early. His Siumut party remained the largest in Parliament, but lost two seats, whilst Inuit Ataqatigiit, the second-largest party, lost three seats. The smaller Democrats and Partii Naleraq gained seats, with the newly formed Cooperation Party and Nunatta Qitornai parties both entering Parliament.

The Third Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 27 October 2016 and 15 May 2018, where it was dissolved following a general election. It was a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Inuit Ataqatigiit and Partii Naleraq.

Nunatta Qitornai separatist political party in Greenland

Nunatta Qitornai is a separatist political party in Greenland advocating independence. It was founded in September 2017 by former Minister of Business, Labour, Trade and Foreign Affairs Vittus Qujaukitsoq, who had previously been in Siumut and who was subsequently elected in the 2018 Greenlandic parliamentary elections.

The Fifth Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 5 October 2018 and 9 April 2019. It was a coalition minority government consisting of Siumut, Solidarity and Descendants of Our Country.

Vittus Qujaukitsoq is a Greenlandic politician. He was previously a member of Siumut, and served as Minister of Business, Labour, Trade and Foreign Affairs in the Kielsen government.

The COVID-19 pandemic was confirmed to have spread to Greenland – an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark – in March 2020. There have been 12 confirmed cases, but none in need of hospitalization. Among the first 11, the last infected person had recovered on 8 April and Greenland had no known active cases. After a long period without any new confirmed cases, one new case was confirmed on 24 May when a Greenlander who had returned from (mainland) Denmark was tested positive during the re-entry check.

The Fourth Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 15 May 2018 and 5 October 2018, where the coalition collapsed with the party Partii Naleraq leaving the coalition following a dispute of the funding of new international airports It was a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Atassut, Nunatta Qitornai and Partii Naleraq.
