The seventh Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland in office from 29 May 2020 to 8 February 2021. It was a coalition minority government consisting of Siumut, the Democrats and Nunatta Qitornai. [1]
It was dissolved on 8 February 2021 when the Democrats left the coalition following disagreement with the new leadership of Siumut over a proposed open-pit mine near the town of Narsaq. [2] [3] [4]
The Social Democratic Forward has 6 ministers including the Premier. The centrist party Nunatta Qitornai has 1 minister, and the Democrats have 3. [5]

There are three types of elections in Denmark: elections to the national parliament, local elections, and elections to the European Parliament. Referendums may also be called to consult the Danish citizenry directly on an issue of national concern.
The Naalakkersuisut is the government of Greenland, an "autonomous constituent country" of the Kingdom of Denmark, takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic country, whereby the prime minister is the head of government, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament Inatsisartut. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. Greenland has full autonomy on most matters, except on policies and decisions affecting the region including negotiations with the devolved legislatures and the Folketing.
KANUKOKA was the national association of Greenland's municipalities, led by Palle Jeremiassen. This organization was completely dissolved and no longer exists in any capacity as of Tuesday, 31 July, 2018. There is no longer an organization governing the relations between Greenland's municipalities and their representative mayors cooperate with each other on a case by case bases. The name was an acronym formed from the first two letters of each of the constituent words of the now defunct organization's name in the Greenlandic language.
Aleqa Hammond is a Greenlandic politician and former member of the Danish Folketing (parliament). Formerly the leader of the Siumut party, she became Greenland's first female Prime Minister after her party emerged as the largest parliamentary faction in the 2013 elections. In 2014 she stepped down as Prime Minister and leader of Siumut, following a case of misuse of public funds. She was expelled from Siumut on 23 August 2016 after yet another case of misuse of public funds and became an independent. On 31 March 2018 she announced that she would be running in the 2018 Greenlandic parliamentary election for the Siumut breakaway Nunatta Qitornai.
The Inuit Party was a separatist party in Greenland, formed by dissidents from the then-governing Inuit Ataqatigiit (IA). The party was opposed to the so-called big-scale law, and wanted a referendum on the law. Mette Lynge represented the party in the Naalakkersuisut (Government) and was minister for dwellings, nature and environment. At the 2014 Greenlandic general election the party did not win any seats in parliament.
Kim Kielsen is a Greenlandic politician, former leader of the Siumut party, and current Prime Minister of Greenland.
Naleraq, previously known as Partii Naleraq, is a centrist-populist political party in Greenland.
General elections were held in Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections.
Atassut is a liberal-conservative, unionist political party in Greenland. Founded on 29 April 1978, Atassut is an established partner of the Liberal Party of Denmark.
The Second Cabinet of Kim Kielsen is the incumbent Government of Greenland, in office since 2 February 2016. It is a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Demokraatit and Atassut.
General elections were held in Greenland on 24 April 2018, electing all 31 members of Parliament. The elections were required to be held no later than 26 November 2018, four years after the previous elections on 27 November 2014, but Prime Minister Kim Kielsen chose to call the elections seven months early. His Siumut party remained the largest in Parliament, but lost two seats, whilst Inuit Ataqatigiit, the second-largest party, lost three seats. The smaller Democrats and Partii Naleraq gained seats, with the newly formed Cooperation Party and Nunatta Qitornai parties both entering Parliament.
The Third Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 27 October 2016 and 15 May 2018, where it was dissolved following a general election. It was a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Inuit Ataqatigiit and Partii Naleraq.
Nunatta Qitornai is a separatist political party in Greenland advocating independence. It was founded in September 2017 by former Minister of Business, Labour, Trade and Foreign Affairs Vittus Qujaukitsoq, who had previously been in Siumut and who was subsequently elected in the 2018 Greenlandic parliamentary elections.
Doris J. Jensen, also Doris Jakobsen, is a Greenlandic politician in the Siumut or Forward party. A former member of the Danish Folketing (2011–2015), she became an elected member of the Parliament of Greenland in 2002. In April 2018, she was appointed Minister of Health and Research in the Naalakkersuisut.
The Sixth Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 9 April 2019 and 29 May 2020, where Kielsen VII Cabinet took over. It was a coalition minority government consisting of Siumut and Descendants of Our Country.
Aki-Matilda Tilia Ditte Høegh-Dam is a Greenlandic politician representing the Siumut party. In June 2019, she was elected to the Folketing, Denmark's parliament, becoming its youngest member. Høegh-Dam studied political science at the University of Copenhagen, graduating in 2019.
The Fourth Cabinet of Kim Kielsen was the Government of Greenland, in office between 15 May 2018 and 5 October 2018, where the coalition collapsed with the party Partii Naleraq leaving the coalition following a dispute of the funding of new international airports It was a coalition majority government consisting of Siumut, Atassut, Nunatta Qitornai and Partii Naleraq.
General elections will be held in Greenland on 6 April 2021, alongside local elections.
