A communist party is a political party that seeks to realize the socio-economic goals of communism. The term "communist party" was popularized by the title of The Manifesto of the Communist Party (1848) by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. As a vanguard party,the communist party guides the political education and development of the working class (proletariat). As a ruling party,the communist party exercises power through the dictatorship of the proletariat. Vladimir Lenin developed the idea of the communist party as the revolutionary vanguard,when the socialist movement in Imperial Russia was divided into ideologically opposed factions,the Bolshevik faction and the Menshevik faction. To be politically effective,Lenin proposed a small vanguard party managed with democratic centralism which allowed the centralized command of a disciplined cadre of professional revolutionaries. Once a policy was agreed upon,realizing political goals required every Bolshevik's total commitment to the agreed-upon policy.
A pioneer movement is an organization for children operated by a communist party. Typically children enter into the organization in elementary school and continue until adolescence. The adolescents then typically join the Young Communist League. Prior to the 1990s there was a wide cooperation between pioneer and similar movements of about 30 countries,coordinated by the international organization,International Committee of Children's and Adolescents' Movements,founded in 1958,with headquarters in Budapest,Hungary.
The Communist Party of Australia (CPA),known as the Australian Communist Party (ACP) from 1944 to 1951,was an Australian communist party founded in 1920. The party existed until roughly 1991,with its membership and influence having been in a steady decline since its peak in 1945. Like most communist parties in the West,the party was heavily involved in the labour movement and the trade unions. Its membership,popularity and influence grew significantly during most of the interwar period before reaching its climax in 1945,where the party achieved a membership of slightly above 22,000 members. Although the party did not achieve a federal MP,Fred Paterson was elected to the Parliament of Queensland at the 1944 state election. He won re-election in 1947 before the seat was abolished. The party also held office in over a dozen local government areas across New South Wales and Queensland.
Little Octobrists was a youth organization for elementary school children in grades 1 through 3 in the Soviet Union. After the age of nine,in the 3rd grade,Little Octobrists would typically join the Young Pioneer organization.
The Ernst Thälmann Pioneer Organisation,consisting of the Young Pioneers and the Thälmann Pioneers,was a youth organisation of schoolchildren aged 6 to 13 in East Germany. The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) is an international youth organization,and has historically characterized itself as left-wing and anti-imperialist. WFDY was founded in London,United Kingdom in 1945 as a broad international youth movement,organized in the context of the end of World War II with the aim of uniting youth from the Allies behind an anti-fascist platform that was broadly pro-peace,anti-nuclear war,expressing friendship between youth of the capitalist and socialist nations. The WFDY Headquarters are in Budapest,Hungary. The main event of WFDY is the World Festival of Youth and Students. The last festival was held in Sochi,Russia,in October 2017. It was one of the first organizations granted general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

The largest is the government run 4-H program,followed by the federally chartered but private Scouting movement groups:the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).
