Koza Mostra is a Greek rock band founded in 2012. It consists of Ilias Kozas (lead singer, classical and electric guitar), Dimitris Raptis (drums), Stavros Apostolidis (bouzouki, backing vocals), Giannis Bellos (bass guitar, backing vocals), Tasos Gentzis (saxophone, backing vocals) and Asterios Fragos (electric guitar, backing vocals). [1] The band fuses ska, punk, and rock music together with the style of traditional Greek folk music such as Macedonian Greek music and rebetiko. [1] [2]

They represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with Agathonas Iakovidis and the song "Alcohol Is Free", placed 6th in the final. [3] [4]

Their debut album Keep up the Rhythm, released on March 22, 2013, [5] reached triple Platinum certification [6] from Greek music industry authority IFPI. It was published by Panik Platinum Records, [5] which is a sublabel of Panik Entertainment Group responsible for "Greek Ethnic music". [7]

On December 15, 2017, they released their second album entitled Corrida. This album was published by Panik Oxygen Records, [8] also a sublabel of Panik Entertainment Group. [7] Subsequent releases were self-released without a label by Koza Mostra. [9]

The album artwork for Koza Mostra's two studio albums, was created by Paul Hitter, who is also responsible for the majority of American punk band Gogol Bordello's artwork. [1]

On February 1, 2020 they released a single entitled "Requiem" featuring Pedro Erazo of Gogol Bordello. [10]

On June 27, 2022, they released a single entitled "Bilio". [11]

On January 6, 2024 they released a single entitled "Elvis". [12]

On September 28, 2024 the band announced on social media, that they would be doing an album preview tour in the United Kingdom, and revealing the title of their upcoming third album, Malaka. [13] The release date was later revealed to be 30 November 2024. [14]

Christougenna Me Tin Katy is the ninth studio album by Greek artist, Katy Garbi. It was released on 12 November 1998 by Sony Music Greece and certified gold in four Christmas seasons, but until today gained platinum certification, selling over 50,000 units, and it is the only Greek Christmas album that has achieved gold and platinum certification. The original album contains eleven Greek versions of well-known international Christmas songs, accompanied by Spiros Labrou's children choir and internationally known tenor, Konstantinos Paliatsaras on the song "Touli Gia Ton Christouli". The choir had already collaborated with Katy in the song "Ftou Xeleftheria" from the album Arhizo Polemo (1996). Well-known lyricist, Eleni Giannatsoulia provided the Greek lyrics for all the songs on the album.

This page includes the discography of singer Despina Vandi. Vandi began a musical career in 1994 after signing with Minos EMI. She released two albums with little success, Gela Mou (1994) and Esena Perimeno (1996), before beginning an exclusive collaboration with composer Phoebus, which would eventually become one of the most successful partnerships in Greek history, and striking commercial success with her third and fourth albums Deka Endoles (1997) and Profities (1999), the latter which reached multi-platinum status. In the 2000s, Vandi and Phoebus began experimenting with more contemporary, radio-friendly pop influences in combination with laiko repertoire to much initial success. Her single "Ipofero" (2000) became the best-selling Greek single of all time ; after the success Vandi and Phoebus signed to new-found independent label Heaven Music with Gia (2001) remaining the label's biggest sales success, and one of the biggest-selling albums of all time in Greece. For the sales of Gia, Vandi became the first of four artists recording in Greece to receive a World Music Award for "World's Best Selling Greek Artist". Katerina "Katy" Garbi is a Greek singer. Her career has spanned over 35 years with over 2 million records sold in Greece and abroad. Garbi's discography is marked by several multi-platinum releases, including Arhizo Polemo (1996) and Evaisthisies (1997), two of the best-selling albums of the decade. Garbi represented Greece in the annual Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 with the song "Ellada, chora tou fotos", taking ninth place. She later struck her biggest commercial success with To Kati (2000) in terms of unit sales. Over the years, Garbi has won 11 Pop Corn Music Awards, including three for Album of the Year, and one Arion Music Award. On 14 March 2010, Alpha TV ranked her among the top-certified female artists in Greece's phonographic era.

<i>Evaisthisies</i> 1997 studio album by Katy Garbi

Evaisthisies is the eighth studio album by Greek artist Katy Garbi. It was released on 17 October 1997 by Sony Music Greece and certified platinum in 2 days, but after months received triple-platinum certification, selling over 160,000 units*. The album was written entirely by Phoebus. It was the second best-selling Greek album of 1997, and Katy's second top-seller album, containing many of her most successful songs like "Ierosilia", "Evaisthisies", "Triferotita" and "Kivotos". On 21 March 2022, was released a vinyl edition of album. The tracklist included live covers and duets as a bonus.

Allaxa is the ninth studio album by Greek singer Despina Vandi. It was released on 27 April 2012 by The Spicy Effect and received double-platinum certification, selling over 24,000 units. It was produced and written by Phoebus and constitute the last cooperation of them. On 26 April 2012, Despina revealed on her Twitter account that after the release of the singles Mou 'Heis Perasei and Girismata, she will release a full-length album.

Dimitra Papadea, known professionally as Demy, is a Greek singer. She is signed with the Greek independent label Panik Records. She has released two studio albums, "#1" in 2012, which became platinum and "Rodino Oniro" in 2014, which became gold. In 2017, she released "Demy", a collection of all of her English songs and later she released the album "Kontra" including two new songs and older songs and collaborations that had not been included in an album up to that time. Demy has achieved 8 No.1 songs and 2 No.1 EPs at the Greek charts so far. She also combined music and acting by having taken part in 5 musicals from 2012 to 2017.

Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Alcohol Is Free", written by Elias Kozas and Stathis Pahidis. The song was performed by the band Koza Mostra featuring Agathonas Iakovidis. The entry for the 2013 contest, which took place in Malmö, Sweden, was selected through a four-participant national final entitled Eurosong 2013 – a MAD show. Due to budget cuts facing the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) at the time, the selection process was a organised by a private music channel, MAD TV.

It was performed at Eurovision with the performers wearing kilts. The song also included a number of allusions to the Greek government-debt crisis and a feeling of suffering as a result of it.

It was released on digital platforms on 27 April 2020 by Panik Platinum, a sub-label of Panik Records, as the fourth single from her upcoming twenty-first studio album. "Kivotos " will be one of five new duets of previously recorded songs by Garbi written and produced by Phoebus to be featured on the upcoming album. To promote the song, Garbi released a music video in conjunction with Kivotos tou Kosmou, a non-profit charity organisation supporting special care and protection of "mother and child".
