Krish is an Indian Playback singer who has worked on Tamil language and Telugu language films. He was introduced to the Tamil Cinema as a Singer by the successful duos Gautham Vasudev Menon and Harris Jayaraj in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu for the song "Manjal Veyyil". After beginning his career as a playback singer, he has also appeared in films as an actor. [2]
Krish was born in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India, but shifted to New York City after his father, a banker, had moved abroad on a posting. He thus shifted schools and spent 15 years in the United States. During his time in New York City, Krish worked as an assistant on the sets of The Cosby Show and National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2004), helping the teams conduct pre-production works. [3] He also completed an acting course at the New York Film Academy and performed at the Broadway in a Walt Disney production of Aladdin , before arriving in Chennai, hoping to get a breakthrough in the industry as an actor. During the initial months of his return to Chennai, Krish participated in stage shows and cultural events as a singer and was recruited by composer Ganesh Kumar to sing a western song for an album. Ganesh passed over Krish's details to music composer Harris Jayaraj. [6] Krish then made his playback singing debut in Tamil films by rendering the song "Manjal Veiyil" from Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006), composed by Harris Jayaraj, alongside Hariharan. He subsequently collaborated with the composer on several other critically acclaimed songs including "June Ponal July Kaatru" from Unnale Unnale (2007), "Sakiyae" from Dhaam Dhoom , "Oru Mugamo" from Bheema and "Adiye Kolluthey" from Vaaranam Aayiram (2008). [3] His work saw him garner multiple Filmfare Award nominations, as well as securing a Vijay Award for Best Singer. He has also featured as a lyricist, penning two songs for the romantic comedy Kandaen (2011). [7]
Film-makers from the Tamil film industry had offered Krish roles as an actor in their ventures, but he was insistent that he would only portray the lead role. He turned down the opportunity from K. V. Anand to play the well-received supporting role portrayed by Ajmal in Ko (2011), though he later played a small role as himself in a song from the film. Producer Ibrahim Rowther spotted Krish in the song "Aga Naga" and offered him the chance of portraying the lead role in his production Puriyadha Anandam Puthithaga Arambam . [3] The film, a romantic love story featuring him alongside Srushti Dange, began shooting in late 2012, but was only released in June 2015. [8] The film had a low key opening, and garnered negative reviews. [9] In June 2015, he also released an independent six-track music album, with compositions by Vijay Ebenezer and videos featuring Nikesha Patel. He had worked alongside Ebenezer for two years for the project, with the song "Maaya" from the album being heavily promoted. [4]
Krish married actress Sangeetha at a private ceremony at Annamalaiyar Temple in Tiruvannamalai on 1 February 2009. [10] The pair's daughter, Shiviya, was born in December 2012. [11]

Sillunu Oru Kaadhal is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by Krishna. It stars Suriya, Jyothika and Bhumika, while Shriya Sharma, Sukanya, Vadivelu and Santhanam play supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by the Indian poet Vaali; cinematography for the film was handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and editing was handled by Anthony. The film was released on 8 September 2006, three days before the wedding of Suriya and Jyothika. The film was first titled as Jillendru Oru Kaadhal and then as Jillunu Oru Kaadhal before it was renamed again to Sillunu Oru Kaadhal.

Sarathkumar as the protagonist and Jyothika as the antagonist, while Andrea Jeremiah and Milind Soman played important supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by Harris Jayaraj. The soundtrack was released on 20 January 2007 to positive reviews. The film was released on 13 February 2007. The movie was dubbed in Telugu as Drohi. It was remade in Sinhala language as Dakina Dakina Mal in 2010.
Unnale Unnale is a 2007 Indian Tamil-language romantic musical film.The movie is directed and co-written by Jeeva and produced by Oscar Ravichandran. It stars Vinay, Sadha and Tanisha Mukherjee in lead roles; Srinath, Raju Sundaram and Sathish Krishnan in supporting roles; and Lekha Washington, Aravind Akash, Uma Padmanabhan, and Vasundhara Kashyap in cameo roles. Raju Sundaram also worked as a choreographer in the film. The Telugu dubbed version was titled Neevalle Neevalle and released simultaneously with the Tamil version. This film marked Vinay's feature film debut and Tanisha's only Tamil film that she ever acted.

Yennai Arindhaal is the soundtrack album for the 2015 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film of the same name, co-written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Ajith Kumar. The soundtrack album composed by Harris Jayaraj, consists of seven tracks, with six tracks written by Thamarai and one song written by Vignesh Shivan. This marks the first time Harris Jayaraj is composing for an Ajith Kumar-starrer film. The audio rights of the soundtrack album were marketed and purchased by Sony Music India. Prior to the soundtrack release, a single track titled "Adhaaru Adhaaru" from the film was released on 11 December 2014. The complete soundtrack album was released on 1 January 2015, coinciding with New Year's Day. It was met with a positive critical reception, with critics and music listeners praising Harris Jayaraj's musicianship and the composition for an Ajith-starrer film, as well as its contribution to Gautham's reunion after Vaaranam Aayiram (2008).
Senthildass Velayutham, an Indian playback singer, predominantly works in Tamil film industry. He has also been singing playback in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi movies.
