Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman, better known by his stage name Karthik, is an Indian actor, playback singer and politician who works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of veteran actor R. Muthuraman. Known as Navarasa Nayagan, Karthik was one of the biggest stars in the industry in 80s and 90s. He was first introduced by Bharathiraja in the Tamil film Alaigal Oivathillai (1981) and became a lead actor in Tamil films by his own. He has also appeared in some Telugu films where he was initially credited as Murali. Karthik often credited for his ability to emote all forms of actions and emotions. Malai Malai is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by A. Venkatesh. The film stars Arun Vijay, Prabhu, Vedhika, and Kasthuri in lead roles, while Prakash Raj, Santhanam, Ganja Karuppu, Vijayakumar, and S. N. Lakshmi play supporting roles. The music was composed by Mani Sharma with editing by V. T. Vijayan. The film released on 31 July 2009 and turned out to be a surprise hit at the box office. This film ran for 100 days in theaters.

Aadhi Pinisetty is an Indian actor who appears in Tamil and Telugu films. He is the recipient of a Nandi Award and a SIIMA Award, in addition to two nominations for Filmfare Awards South.

Dhoni is a 2012 Indian drama film co-written, directed and produced by Prakash Raj. Simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu languages, it stars Raj alongside Akash and Radhika Apte. The plot illustrates the conflicting interests of a father and his son; the father wants his son to study MBA, but his son is more interested in sports and wants to become a famous cricketer like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Based on the Marathi film Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho by Mahesh Manjrekar, Dhoni released on 10 February 2012 to positive reviews.
Kalakalappu (transl. Humour) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by his wife Khushbu. It stars Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya and with music composed by Vijay Ebenezer. It was originally titled Masala Cafe, but was later renamed to Kalakalappu. The film released on 11 May 2012 to positive reviews, and became a commercial success. The film is 25th directorial venture for Sundar. The film was remade in Telugu as Jump Jilani. In 2018, the film had a spiritual successor Kalakalappu 2. The film is loosely based on the 2009 German film Soul Kitchen.
Veera Sivaji is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by Ganesh Vinayak, starring Vikram Prabhu and Shamili. The film began production during July 2015. Released worldwide on December 16, 2016, it met with extremely negative reviews and was a disaster at the box office.
Bairavaa is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Bharathan, and produced by B. Venkatarama Reddy. The film stars Vijay in the titular role alongside Keerthy Suresh, Jagapathi Babu, Daniel Balaji, Sathish, Thambi Ramaiah, Mime Gopi, Sija Rose, Harish Uthaman and Aparna Vinod.

Naanga Romba Busy is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language crime comedy film directed by Badri. It is a remake of the Kannada film Mayabazar 2016 (2020) and stars Prasanna, Shaam, Ashwin Kakumanu, Yogi Babu, Shruti Marathe, Rittika Sen, and VTV Ganesh. The film premiered as a Diwali special on Sun TV on 14 November 2020.
