Krishna Prasad N. P. is an Indian actor and agriculturist, who appears in Malayalam films and television. He made his acting debut as a teen in 1984 with a bit part in K. G. George's Panchavadi Palam . His debut credited role came in Padmarajan's 1988 drama Moonnam Pakkam . Since then, he has acted in over 150 films.
He played leading role in K. S. Sethumadhavan's and M. T. Vasudevan Nair's drama Venal Kinavukal (1991) and in the TV serial Vritthandham on Doordarshan. He has mostly played supporting roles. Prasad has worked with various filmmakers, including Adoor Gopalakrishnan, A. K. Lohithadas, Sibi Malayil, Priyadarshan, Anjali Menon, Dr. Biju, Lal Jose, Martin Prakkat, Abrid Shine, and Midhun Manuel Thomas.
Prasad ventured into paddy cultivation in 2007. In 2010, he won Karshakamitra award from the Government of Kerala for his work in farming. Prasad has served as a member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, and Kerala Lalithakala Akademi.
Krishna Prasad was born into a traditional agriculturist family. His ancestral home is in Anchuvilakku, Perunna, Changanassery. He has two siblings. [2] His father, N. P. Unnipilla was a teacher, social worker, and agriculturist. Prasad began acting at the age of eight, portraying a 70-year-old man in a stage drama titled Prism. From then on, he remained active in stage plays, which eventually led to his entry into cinema. He was a two-time Best Actor at Mahatma Gandhi University youth festival. [3] He is also a graduate of Mahatma Gandhi University. [4]
He made his acting debut as a teen in 1984 with K. G. George's Panchavadi Palam , playing a bit part as a charlatan's disciple. His father also appeared in the film. [5] It was followed by his debut credited role in Padmarajan's 1988 drama Moonnam Pakkam . He worked with Padmarajan again in a prominent role in Season (1989). He was then cast in a leading role in K. S. Sethumadhavan-directed drama Venal Kinavukal written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Around the same time, he played the leading role in the television serial Vritthandham on Doordarshan. In 1997, he acted alongside Sivaji Ganesan in Oru Yathramozhi . He has also acted in Malayalam television serials. He won Critics award for his acting in the serial Samaksham. He also acted in serials such as Nalukettu, Sthree, Samayam among others. He played an antagonistic role in the 2008 drama Mizhikal Sakshi . [3] He has acted in over 150 films. [2]

Prasad ventured into paddy cultivation in 2007. [6] He also cultivates plantain and tapioca. [7] He holds a Kisan Credit Card. Prasad has also been involved as a social activist in agricultural field, in issues related to Kuttanad Package and paddy field fund. In 2008, he conducted an event called Bhakshyasurakshakkayi Karshakakkoottaima (farmers community for food security) for honouring farmers which was attended by thousands of farmers, who where honoured by wearing ponnada. A class seven question paper of SSA involved a question about Krishna Prasad as a farmer. [3] In 2010, he won Karshakamitra award from the Government of Kerala. [2] In 2023, Prasad joined fellow farmers in protesting the non-payment for their produce sold to Supplyco, which offered them unsolicited loans in place of cash payments. [8]
Krishna Prasad is married to Reshmi. They have two children—Prarthana Krishna and Prapancha Krishna. [6] [2] He resides in Perunna, Changanassery. In 2020, he started a YouTube channel called Karshakasree Krishna Prasad. [3]

Padmarajan Padmanabhan Pillai, better known as P. Padmarajan was an Indian film maker, screenwriter and author who was known for his works in Malayalam literature and Malayalam cinema. He was the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Bharathan and K. G. George, in the 1980s.
Kulakkattil Geevarghese George was an Indian filmmaker and screenwriter who worked in the Malayalam cinema. He was the founder of a new school of film making in Malayalam cinema, along with Bharathan and P. Padmarajan, in the 1980s. He was awarded the J. C. Panchavadi Palam is a 1984 Indian Malayalam-language political satire film written and directed by K. G. George, based on the story Palam Apakadathil (1981) by Veloor Krishnankutty. It stars Bharat Gopy, Nedumudi Venu, Sreenivasan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Sukumari, and Thilakan in the main roles. The film tries to caricature the political scenario in the state of Kerala and portrays the pitiful corruption by politicians.

Kainikkara Padmanabha Pillai (1898–1976), popularly identified as Swathithirunal Kainikkara Padmanabha Pillai after his magnum opus, Swathithirunal, was an Indian author of Malayalam literature, actor, speaker, teacher and thinker. He was known for his plays which dealt with themes such as patriotism, sacrifice and justice and his characters showed heroism, showing influence of William Shakespeare. Kerala Sahitya Akademi awarded him their annual award for drama in 1970. He was also a recipient of the Kalyani Krishna Menon Puraskaram.
Kainikkara Kumara Pillai (1900–1988) was an Indian teacher, actor, short story writer, essayist and playwright of Malayalam literature, best known for his plays such as Harichandra, Mathruka Manushyan and Mohavum, Mukhtiyum. He was the younger brother of Kainikkara Padmanabha Pillai, a noted author and thinker. An author of 18 books, Kumara Pillai was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Drama in 1970. The Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi inducted him as a distinguished fellow in 1975 followed by the Kerala Sahitya Akademi in 1986.
Ashokan is an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam films. He made his film debut with Peruvazhiyambalam the film won the 1979 National film award for best feature film. He is best known for his roles in Yavanika (1982), Yuvajanotsavam (1986), Thoovanathumbikal (1987), Moonnam Pakkam (1988), In Harihar Nagar (1990), Amaram (1990), 2 Harihar Nagar (2009) and In Ghost House Inn (2010).
P. Surendran is an Indian writer, columnist, art critic and a philanthropist. He has published over 30 books, including works of fiction, travelogues and general writings, in Malayalam and also a collection of short stories in English.He was a Malayalam teacher at Kumaranellur School, Palakkad district. A. Sethumadhavan, popularly known as Sethu, is a Malayalam fiction writer. He has published more than 35 books. He won the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 2007 for the work Adayalangal. He received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Awards in 1982 and 1978 for his works Pandavapuram and Pediswapnangal; and Vayalar Award for Adyalangal in 2006. He also won Odakkuzhal award for his novel Marupiravi. Sethu's other literary works include Velutha Koodarangal, Thaliyola, Kiratham, Niyogam, Sethuvinte Kathakal and Kaimudrakal. He also served as the chairman and CEO of the South Indian Bank. In 2022, he won the Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, highest literary honour of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi.
K. P. Nirmal Kumar is a Malayalam-language writer from Kerala, India. He is reckoned among the few front-ranking fiction writers in Malayalam who have contemporary vision.
Surasu was a Malayalam–language playwright and actor from Kerala, India. He introduced to Malayali audiences a new genre of drama known as mozhiyattam which is a fusion of poetry and theatre. He won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977 for the play Vishwaroopam which is regarded as his best work. Surasu wrote the script for some Malayalam films such as Randu Penkuttikal. He also acted in a few films, such as Moonnam Pakkam (1988). 'Surasu' was his screen name selected by himself and literally that word means an alcoholic. Surasu was married to drama artist Ambujam Surasu, but the couple did not have children. He took his life at Kottayam railway station in 1995.

G. Kumara Pillai was a Malayalam–language poet, essayist and activist from Kerala state, South India. He was a Gandhian all through his adult life and was in the forefront of several human rights movements in Kerala. He authored some 20 books. His poetry work Saptaswaram received the Odakkuzhal Award in 1984 and Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985.
Narayanan Lakshmi Balakrishnan, commonly known as N. L. Balakrishnan, was an Indian film still photographer and actor who worked in Malayalam cinema. He worked as a still photographer in about 170 films and has associated with great directors including G. Aravindan, John Abraham, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, P. Padmarajan, Bharathan and K. G. George. He was an actor, with 180 credits to his name, and has also worked as a photo journalist with Kerala Kaumudi.
