Kuwait's Second District

Kuwait's second district consists of 13 residential areas starting from the main suburban districts of Faiha, Abdullah Al-Salem, Shamiya, Shuwaikh, Sulaibikhat and Doha. The current Speaker of National Assembly, Marzouq Al Ghanim is a member of this district.

Shuwaikh is a seaside district of Kuwait City in Kuwait. It comprises eight blocks. Shuwaikh also has an industrial area, a port, a commercial area, a healthcare area and an education area; all of which form their own census-designated districts.

Yarmouk is an area of Kuwait City in the Al Asimah Governorate in Kuwait. Divided into four blocks, its main dwellers have moved to the area from Al-Faiha as their families grew. Its main street is called Abdul-Aziz Bin-Baz Street which extends from the entrance and the Fourth-Ring Road all the way to the other side. It is also one of the most prestigious suburbs in Kuwait, alongside other suburbs such as Nuzha, Shuwaikh and Dahia Abdullah Al Salem. Its population is 25,000.

Abdulla Al-Salem is an area of Kuwait City. It is known to be one of the areas where the wealthiest of the families of Kuwait live alongside Faiha, Shuwaikh, Nuzha, Kaifan, and Shamiyah. Lands in this area range from 750 to 1250 square meters and the average of a 1000 sq meter land is worth between 1 and 2 million Kuwaitii Dinars.

The Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway is a causeway in Kuwait with an estimated construction value of approximately US$3 billion Under China's Belt and Road Initiative, the causeway is part of the first phase of the Silk City project. The causeway spans the Bay of Kuwait in two directions and comprises two projects: Main Link, which connects Kuwait City with northern Kuwait ; and Doha Link, which connects Kuwait City with Doha. It crosses two artificial islands which were constructed for entertainment and tourism purposes. The causeway project is part of Kuwait Vision 2035.

The Al Salam Palace is a historic palace and museum located in Shuwaikh, Kuwait. It was originally established as an idea envisioned by the late Amir Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah in the late 1950s, when he aspired to build a special mansion for him and his family. To achieve that, the late Amir headed to Egypt to search for a specialized architect who could turn his vision of the mansion into reality. He eventually commissioned architect Medhat Al-Abed, who designed a round-shaped palace with magnificent interior decorations. Al Salam Palace is part of the new Kuwait National Cultural District (KNCD).

Sulaibikhat Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Kuwait, where many dead have been buried since the sixties of the last century until now. The cemetery is divided into two parts, the Sunni cemetery, which opened in 1976, and the Ja'fari cemetery, which opened in 1973, so named for its presence in the Sulaibikhat area In the north-east of Kuwait, the Kuwaiti martyrs have a special section in the cemetery.
