Kyle Monangai is an American football running back for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Monangai attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, New Jersey. As a senior, he had over 900 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns, and 400 receiving yards with five touchdowns. He committed to Rutgers University to play college football. [1] [2]
Monangai played in five games his first year at Rutgers in 2020 and did not have a carry. He played in 11 games in 2021 and had 235 yards on 62 carries with four touchdowns. [3] As a sophomore in 2022, he started 11 of 12 games and recorded 445 yards on 109 carries with two touchdowns. [4] Monangai returned as a starter in 2023. [5] He became the first Rutgers running back since Jawan Jamison in 2012 to rush for 1,000 yards. [6] [7]
Raymell Mourice Rice is an American former football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He played college football at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where he received first-team All-American honors, and was selected by the Ravens in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. During his career, Rice was named to three Pro Bowls and was a member of the team that won Super Bowl XLVII. Rice is second in franchise rushing yards, rushing attempts, and rushing touchdowns, and is third in the franchise in combined touchdowns.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team represents Rutgers University in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Rutgers competes as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Prior to joining the Big Ten, the Scarlet Knights were a member of the American Athletic Conference from 1991 to 2013. Rutgers plays its home games at SHI Stadium, in Piscataway, New Jersey. The team is currently led by head coach Greg Schiano. The Scarlet Knights football team is notable for playing in the first ever college football game in 1869, in which the Rutgers Scarlet Knights defeated Princeton Tigers by a score of 6–4.
Kolby Kendrall Smith is a former American football running back and coach who is an offensive assistant for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft after he played college football at Louisville. Smith also was a member of the Denver Broncos and Jacksonville Jaguars. After his playing career he began coaching in the college ranks and as 2020 he returned to the NFL as a coach with the Miami Dolphins.
Mike Teel is a former American football quarterback. He played college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Teel spent time with the Seahawks, New England Patriots, and Chicago Bears in the span of three years. After serving as the quarterbacks coach for the Kean Cougars of Kean University in 2011, he was the quarterbacks coach for Wagner College in 2012 and departed after one year. In 2014 Teel resumed coaching as a graduate assistant at Rutgers. Teel is formerly the head coach for the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen football team.
"Jersey" Joe Martinek is a former American football fullback. He is the all-time high school leading rusher in New Jersey state history with 7,589 yards and was a running back at Rutgers. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants after the 2012 NFL Draft. Joe then played professionally in the Italian Football League for the Parma Panthers.
Kyle J. Flood is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for the Texas Longhorns football team. He is also the former head football coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Flood was named the 29th head football coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team after Greg Schiano accepted the National Football League head coaching position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is the first Rutgers football head coach to be promoted from assistant since the 1973 season. Flood is a graduate of Iona College and earned four varsity letters for the Gaels between 1989 and 1992.
Gary Nova is an American football quarterback. He played college football at Rutgers and was the Scarlet Knights starting quarterback from 2012 to 2014.
Jawan Jamison is a former American football running back. He played college football for Rutgers University. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. He was considered one of the best running backs in his class.

He played three seasons of college football at Wisconsin, where he finished his college career as the sixth all-time rusher in the NCAA and became the first player in history to rush for more than 6,000 yards in any three-year span.
