Nick McCloud (born July 9, 1998) is an American professional football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He has previously played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants. He played college football at NC State and Notre Dame.

He played college football at Notre Dame and North Carolina State.

While playing for Notre Dame in the 2021 Rose Bowl, McCloud went viral after getting hurdled by Alabama runningback Najee Harris. [1]

Buffalo Bills (first stint)

McCloud signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2021. [3] He was waived during final roster cuts on August 31, 2021. [4]

Cincinnati Bengals

McCloud was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals on September 1, 2021. [5] He was waived on November 4, 2021. [6]

Buffalo Bills (second stint)

On November 8, 2021, McCloud was signed to the Bills practice squad. [7] After the Bills were eliminated in the Divisional Round of the 2021 playoffs, he signed a reserve/future contract on January 24, 2022. [8] He was waived on August 30. [9]

New York Giants

On August 31, 2022, McCloud was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants. [10]

In a 2023 Week 11 game against the Washington Commanders, McCloud recorded an interception, a forced fumble, and a pass deflection. [11] McCloud ended the 2023 season with 28 tackles, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, an interception, and two pass deflections. [12]

On November 5, 2024, McCloud was waived by the Giants.

San Francisco 49ers

On November 11, 2024, McCloud was signed to the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. [13] On November 30, 2024, McCloud was promoted to the active roster. [14]
