JSC National Air Carrier "Kyrgyzstan Airlines" (Russian : ОАО «Национальный авиаперевозчик «Кыргызстан Аба Жолдору») was the national airline of Kyrgyzstan, with its head office on the grounds of Manas International Airport in Bishkek. It operated scheduled international and domestic services, as well as charter flights. Its main base was Manas International Airport, with a hub at Osh Airport.

Russian is an East Slavic language, which is official in the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as being widely used throughout Eastern Europe, the Baltic states, the Caucasus and Central Asia. It was the de facto language of the Soviet Union until its dissolution on 25 December 1991. Although nearly three decades have passed since the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russian is used in official capacity or in public life in all the post-Soviet nation-states, as well as in Israel and Mongolia.

An airline is a company that provides air transport services for traveling passengers and freight. Airlines utilize aircraft to supply these services and may form partnerships or alliances with other airlines for codeshare agreements. Generally, airline companies are recognized with an air operating certificate or license issued by a governmental aviation body.

Kyrgyzstan, officially the Kyrgyz Republic, and also known as Kirghizia, is a country in Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country with mountainous terrain. It is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west and southwest, Tajikistan to the southwest and China to the east. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek.

History

The airline was originally Aeroflot Kyrgyzstan Directorate and was established in 1992. It signed a co-operation agreement with Aeroflot in October 1997 covering new scheduled services, aircraft maintenance, ticketing and marketing.^{[ citation needed ]}

PJSC Aeroflot – Russian Airlines, commonly known as Aeroflot, is the flag carrier and largest airline of the Russian Federation. The carrier is an open joint stock company that operates domestic and international passenger and services, mainly from its hub at Sheremetyevo International Airport.

On 2 January 2002 the airline moved its head office to the Kyrgyzstan Airlines Sales Agency building of Manas International Airport.^[1] Previously the head office was also on the grounds of the airport.^[2]

Manas International Airport is the main international airport in Kyrgyzstan located 25 kilometres (16 mi) north-northwest of the capital Bishkek.

In 2005 the airline went bankrupt and was taken over by Altyn Air, which was rebranded as Kyrgyzstan Air Company in 2006.^{[ citation needed ]}

The airline was owned by the government (81%), private shareholders (11%) and the Soial Foundation (8%).^[3]

Delhi, officially the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), is a city and a union territory of India containing New Delhi, the capital of India. It is bordered by Haryana on three sides and by Uttar Pradesh to the east. The NCT covers an area of 1,484 square kilometres (573 sq mi). Delhi is the second-wealthiest city in India after Mumbai, with a total private wealth of $450 billion and is home to 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires.

Bishkek, formerly Pishpek and Frunze, is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is also the administrative centre of the Chuy Region. The province surrounds the city, although the city itself is not part of the province, but rather a province-level unit of Kyrgyzstan.

Kazarman is the village and capital of Toguz-Toro District, Jalal-Abad Region, Kyrgyzstan on the Naryn River. Its population was 9,486 in 2009.

It operates scheduled domestic and international services to 13 destinations as well as charter services. Its main hub is Manas International Airport in Bishkek, with a hub at Osh Airport in Osh.

Omskavia (Russian:ОмскА́виа) was an airline based in Omsk, Russia. It operated domestic and international scheduled and charter, passenger, cargo and mail services, as well as aircraft maintenance. Its main bases were Tsentralny Airport, Omsk, and Domodedovo International Airport, Moscow.

Orenburg Airlines or JSC Orenair was a Russian airline with its head office on the property of Orenburg Tsentralny Airport in Orenburg. It operated domestic passenger services and inclusive tour charters, as well as aerial work and special flights. Its main base was Orenburg Tsentralny Airport and it had hubs at Domodedovo and Simferopol International Airport.

Tajik Air, legally State Unitary Aviation Enterprise, was an airline in Tajikistan. It had its head office at Dushanbe International Airport in Dushanbe. The airline had its main hub at Dushanbe International Airport, and it retained a secondary focus city at Khujand's Khudzhand Airport. It ceased operations in January 2019 as the then eighth-oldest airline worldwide.

JSC Izhavia is an airline based in Izhevsk, Udmurtia, Russia. It is the national airline of the Udmurt Republic of Russia and operates domestic charter and scheduled passenger services. Its main base is Izhevsk Airport.

JSC "Domodedovo Airlines" was an airline with its head office on the grounds of Domodedovo International Airport in Domodedovsky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia. Air Bishkek was an airline based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, with its operational base at Manas International Airport. It was founded as Eastok Avia(E4/EAA) in 2006 and renamed to Kyrgyz Airways. In 2011 the airline was again rebranded into Air Bishkek. Due to alleged poor safety standards in Kyrgyzstan, the airline has been included in the List of air carriers banned in the European Union since 12 October 2006. The airline stopped operating in February 2016 after experiencing financial difficulties. As of June 2016, Air Operator Certificate has been suspended.

Air Manas is a low-cost airline based in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Its main base is Manas International Airport.
