La Voz Kids is a Spanish-language American singing competition television series that premiered May 5, 2013 on Telemundo. It is part of the reality singing competition The Voice Kids' worldwide franchise, created by Dutch television producer John de Mol Jr.. The show ran for four seasons between 2013 and 2016.

Overview

In 2013, American Spanish-language network Telemundo (a subsidiary of NBCUniversal Television Group) introduced a children's version of The Voice in Spanish called La Voz Kids. It featured Spanish-speaking American children from 7 to 15 years of age. Prizes include $50,000 cash for their education and a recording contract with Universal Music Group. The show debuted on May 5, 2013, and is hosted by Jorge Bernal (from ¡Suelta La Sopa!) and Daisy Fuentes. The coaches in season one were Prince Royce, Paulina Rubio, and Roberto Tapia. The first season aired 13 episodes with the season finale airing on July 28, 2013. [1] [2]

Season two saw Natalia Jiménez replace Paulina Rubio as one of the coaches. The other coaches and hosts remained the same. [3]

For the show's third season, Daddy Yankee and Pedro Fernandez took Tapia and Royce's place as the new coaches along with season two veteran Natalia Jiménez. [4]

At their 2015 Upfronts, Telemundo announced that La Voz Kids would return for a fourth season, with all three Season 3 coaches returning. [5]

Coaches and hosts

The coaches in the first season were Prince Royce, Paulina Rubio and Roberto Tapia. In the second season, Natalia Jiménez replaced Rubio. For the show's third season, Daddy Yankee and Pedro Fernández took Tapia and Royce's place as the new coaches along with season two veteran Natalia Jiménez. Coaches remained all the same for the fourth season.

Antonio Rayo, best known as Rayito, is a Spanish musician of Gitano and Japanese heritage. His father, a flamenco guitarist, taught him to play the instrument at a young age, and at the age of four years he was already giving concerts and winning television contests. By age eight he was famous throughout Spain as a virtuoso of flamenco guitar, and in 1992, at age ten, he released his first album, Rayito en Concierto. Thus he became the youngest person accepted into the SGAE, the Spanish equivalent of ASCAP. At age 15 he moved to Miami, where he collaborated with artists including Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, Julio Iglesias, Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin, and David Bisbal. In June 2005 he moved again to Puerto Rico, where he began work on a new project of his own. The product was his eponymous second album, which he released on September 26, 2006. He describes it as a flamenco pop album that draws on reggae, hip hop, Caribbean rhythms, and Latin American styles. Rayo signed a publishing deal with Sony in January 2009. Roberto Tapia is an American singer of Mexican ancestry. He was born in San Diego, California and raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He adopted the Regional Mexican genre and in August 2012, his album El Muchacho hit #1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart. Tapia was one of three coaches on the first two seasons of La Voz Kids, a Spanish-language version of The Voice featuring American Spanish-speaking children on the Telemundo Network. He inclusively became a business man in the year of 2013, promoting restaurants, and still continuing with his singer life.

The 31st Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony was held on February 21, 2019. Univision broadcast the show live from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Mexican-American TV presenter, Alejandra Espinoza, Mexican singer and actress Maite Perroni, and American singer Victor Manuelle hosted the ceremony.

The first season of La Voz premiered on January 13, 2019 on Telemundo. The coaches for this season were Luis Fonsi, Carlos Vives, Alejandra Guzmán and Wisin. The season was hosted by Jorge Bernal, Jacqueline Bracamontes and Jéssica Cediel backstage.

The Premios Juventud 2011 were held on July 21, 2011. The nominees were announced on May 16, 2011
