The Voice (franchise)

OVoz (Uzbek for The Voice) is a Uzbek singing reality competition television series broadcast on Zo'r TV. Created by John de Mol, it premiered on 20 April 2024. [1] Based on the original The Voice of Holland , and part of The Voice franchise, it aims to find unsigned singing talent (solo or duets, professional and amateur) contested by aspiring singers, age 16 or over, drawn from public auditions.

Presentation ceremony was held on 16 March 2024 on the Zo'r TV channel. At the press conference held on the same day, it was said that Uzbekistan is the 76th country in the world that has received the right to show this TV project. At the ceremony, Farrukh Zakirov, Sevara Nazarkhan, Tahir Sodikov and Ozodbek Nazarbekov were introduced as the first coaches of the "Voice" musical project. [2]

At age 10 her parents sent her to the United Kingdom, where during four years she studied in educational institutions such as the Vinehall School (1996–1999) and Sherborne International College (1999–2000). In 2001 Nilufar returned to Uzbekistan, entered to the Tashkent Ulugbek International School and finished it in 2004.In 2006, Nilufar, aiming to become lawyer, started studying in Tashkent State Law University and graduated in 2013.

Uzbekistan had a total primary energy supply (TPES) of 48.28 Mtoe in 2012. Electricity consumption was 47.80 TWh. The majority of primary energy came from fossil fuels, with natural gas, coal and oil the main sources. Hydroelectricity, the only significant renewable source in the country, accounted for about 2% of the primary energy supply. Natural gas is the source for 73.8% of electricity production, followed by hydroelectricity with 21.4%.

Dauletmurat Tazhimuratov is a Karakalpak lawyer, journalist, and human rights defender who played a leading role in the 2022 Karakalpak protests. In January 2023, he was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for "orchestrating mass riots" and "attempting to seize power" in what Human Rights Watch described as a politically motivated trial. In November 2023, the United Nations issued a statement calling on the Uzbek government to stop the persecution of Tazhimuratov and other defenders of minority rights.
