The Lada Vesta is a compact car produced by the Russian car company AvtoVAZ since 2015. [2] It was presented in August 2014 during the Moscow International Automobile Salon [6] and went into mass production on 25 September 2015 in Izhevsk. [7]
Bo Andersson, President and CEO of AvtoVAZ, was responsible for improving overall operations and quality at AvtoVAZ, enabling the Lada Vesta – AvtoVAZ' first completely new platform in several years – to launch on-time and with the highest crash safety rating in its class. [8]
Within days after the Lada Vesta went on sale in November, it became one of the best-selling cars in the Russian market. [9] In 2018, Lada Vesta became the Best Selling Car in Russia. [10]
Lada introduced a station wagon and a "Cross" version of the station wagon, with higher ground clearance, in September 2017. A "Cross" version of the sedan, with more ground clearance than a Toyota RAV4, arrived in the first half of 2018. [11]
In September 2022, the president of Lada, Maxim Sokolov, announced the creation of two new Lada models, one of them to be a crossover on the Vesta built on the Lada B/C platform of Renault conception, and the other a separate Lada family of compact cars "on a global platform". The new Vesta would be the first new model to be launched after the transition of Vesta production from Izhevsk to Togliatti. [12]
As standard, the car has an airbag, anti-lock braking system with brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, traction control system, hill start assistant, ERA-GLONASS emergency system, tilt/telescoping adjustable steering column, remote controlled car central locking system with folding key, trip computer, car alarm, 15 or 16-inch wheels and full-size spare tyre, making it one of the most equipped models in the entry-level segment in Russia. [13] The Lada Vesta gets side airbags in 2016. [14]
Production of the Vesta started on 25 September 2015 at AvtoVAZ's Izhevsk manufacturing site. The first mass production Lada Vesta was a car of the Comfort trim-level, equipped with a 1.6-litre engine and a manual transmission. Sales started on 25 November 2015. The car is one of the carmaker's flagship models. [15]
The Lada Vesta is sold on Russian, Azerbaijani and Kazakhstani markets. AvtoVAZ also commenced Vesta exports to the European Union, to countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia in early 2017. [16] The sale of the SW and Cross versions started a year later. The EU-spec Lada Vesta meets Euro 6 emissions standards and offers additional safety equipment. Only the 1.6-litre engine was sold in the EU. [17] Exports to the European Union ended after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Vesta was formerly available in three basic complete sets - base Classic, average Comfort and top Luxe. In all trim levels, there are options. For the complete set of Classic - Start, for Comfort - Multimedia and Image, for Luxe - Multimedia.
Lada's newest Prestige option, which includes the Multimedia package and 5 additional items of equipment that increase the comfort of the driver and passengers. These include a folding rear armrest with cup holders. To recharge the gadgets the passengers will be helped by a power USB socket in the central armrest, which is located between the front seats. On the same armrest are the controls for heating the rear seats and tinted rear windows. Also, the Prestige package provides atmospheric illumination of the interior: several LEDs are located in the niches of the feet of the front passengers, on the console and on the upholstery of the doors. Integral equipment LADA Vesta in the maximum configuration with the package Prestige - multimedia system with navigation (7-inch color display with Touchscreen, FM / AM with RDS, USB, SD card, AUX, Bluetooth, Hands free, 6 speakers), on the screen which displays the image from the rear view camera. The Prestige package is available for LADA Vesta sedans in the Luxe package with the following power units: 1.6-liter manual transmission (from 746,900 rubles), 1.8-liter manual transmission (from 781,900 rubles) and 1.8-liter automated manual transmission (AMT) (806,900 rubles). The 1.6-liter engine produces 106 hp (78 kW), while the larger 1.8 has 122 hp (90 kW).

The Vesta raced for Lada Sport in the FIA World Touring Car Championship between 2015 and 2016, and later with privateer RC Motorsport in 2017.
In March 2015, Lada grabbed the pole position for Race 2 of the Argentina WTCC, with a Rosneft Vesta TC1. [21] During its time in the championship the Vesta claimed four race victories with Gabriele Tarquini, Nick Catsburg and Yann Ehrlacher driving.
The car scored 14.1 points out of 16 in a frontal crash test conducted by the Russian ARCAP safety assessment program in 2016, and was awarded four stars out of four. [22]
AvtoVAZ is a Russian automobile manufacturing company owned by the state. It was formerly named as VAZ, an acronym for Volga Automotive Plant in Russian. AvtoVAZ is best known for its flagship series of Lada vehicles. In the Soviet Union, its products used various names, including Zhiguli, Oka, and Sputnik, which were phased out in the 1990s and replaced by Lada for the Russian market. From December 2019 to August 2020, AvtoVAZ sold Niva cars with Chevrolet branding.
The Lada Niva Legend, formerly called the Lada Niva, VAZ-2121, VAZ-2131, and Lada 4×4, is a series of four-wheel drive, small (hatchback), and compact off-road cars designed and produced by AvtoVAZ since 1977. Initially aimed at the rural market, later models also targeted urban users. The three- and later five-door 4×4 hatchbacks were sold under the Lada marque in many markets, and have been in continuous production since 1977.
The Lada / VAZ-2105, 2104 and 2107, collectively marketed as Lada Riva for right-hand drive models, the Lada Nova in Germany, and by multiple other names and markets, are a series of compact sedans of the Zhiguli line-up, built by Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ. Introduced in 1979 in the Soviet Union, and progressively introduced to Western European and global markets from the early 1980s, under the Lada brand, they were sold as saloons, and station wagon (2104) versions.

Lada is a brand of small cars manufactured by AvtoVAZ, a Russian state-owned company. From January 2021 until May 2022, Lada was integrated with then sister brand Dacia into Renault's Lada-Dacia business unit.
The Lada 110 or VAZ-2110 is a compact car built by the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ from 1995 to 2009. It spawned two close derivatives: the Lada 111 estate and the Lada 112 hatchback.
The Lada Priora is a compact car produced by the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ from March 2007 to July 2018. It is largely a restyled and modernised Lada 110 and replaced it in 2009. By May 16, 2012, 590,000 Prioras had been produced. Starting model year 2016, the Priora is not available for export market and has been replaced by Lada Vesta.

Automotive production is a significant industry in Russia, directly employing around 600,000 people or 1% of the country's total workforce. Russia produced 1,767,674 vehicles in 2018, ranking 13th among car-producing nations in 2018, and accounting for 1.8% of the worldwide production. The main local brands are light vehicle producers AvtoVAZ and GAZ, while KamAZ is the leading heavy vehicle producer. The Lada Granta is a subcompact car developed by Russian automaker AvtoVAZ in collaboration with Renault, based on the Lada Kalina platform. Mass sales started in Russia on 1 December 2011.
The Lada Largus is a compact estate car built by the Russian manufacturer AvtoVAZ for Russia and CIS countries since 2012. It is essentially a rebadged version of the Renault-developed first generation Dacia Logan MCV and is produced as a joint project with Renault and Nissan.

The Lada XRAY is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by the Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ. Designed by a team led by Steve Mattin, the chief designer of the Lada Vesta, it was first presented as a concept in August 2012 at the Moscow International Automobile Salon. A newer version, the Lada XRAY Concept 2, debuted in August 2014. The production version of the Lada XRAY was released for sale in early 2016 and ceased in 2022 for unavailability of parts due to the international sanctions after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The VAZ-2106 Zhiguli is a sedan produced by the Soviet automaker VAZ, and later, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, also by Russian Izhevsk Avto and Ukrainian Anto-Rus. In export markets, it was known simply as Lada 1600 or alternatively as Lada 2106. In the domestic market it was popularly nicknamed Шестёрка. A hugely popular car and one of the most successful Lada models, it was in serial production for 30 years, although production in the VAZ plant ended after 25 years, in 2001, with manufacture continuing at Izhevsk for the final five years.
PSA Bronto was a Russian company focused on the production of special vehicles and SUVs. It was established in 1993 and closed in 2015. While in operation, it was closely associated with AvtoVAZ. The Bronto badging is still used.
ARCAP is an automobile safety assessment program founded by the Russian car magazine Autoreview. It was Russia's first independent rating for the passive safety of a car, presenting itself as the local edition of the Euro NCAP program. It also provides exclusive test results on some models not marketed in Europe or North America, such as AvtoVAZ vehicles.
ChechenAvto is a Chechen automobile manufacturer based in Argun, Chechen Republic. The Company was originally established as a machine-building plant in 1960 and its acquired its current status in 2008. It was known as Pishchemash until 1991, and was part of the Malyshev Factory industrial group.
Auto Finance Bank, named until July 2023 RN Bank, is a Moscow-based bank established in 2013, owned by the Russian car manufacturer AvtoVAZ and aimed at financing its car sales.
The Lada Aura is a business sedan manufactured by the Russian company AvtoVAZ, the serial production of which is planned to begin in August–September 2024.
