Lake Fundeni is a man-made lake on the Colentina River in Bucharest, Sector 2. It has a surface of 35 ha (86 acres), length of 2.1 km (1.3 mi), width of 200–800 m, a depth between 1 and 5 meters, and a volume of 800,000 m3 (1,000,000 cu yd). [1]
In the middle of the lake there is an island with a surface area of 3.16 ha (7.8 acres). Upstream, to the west, is Lake Colentina , and downstream, to the east, is Lake Dobroești .

Ilfov is the county that surrounds Bucharest, the capital of Romania. It used to be largely rural, but, after the fall of Communism, many of the county's villages and communes developed into high-income commuter towns, which act like suburbs or satellites of Bucharest. The lake has a length of 3 kilometers, a width between 50 meters and 400 meters, a surface area of 40 hectares, a depth between 1 meter and 3 meters, a volume of 630,000 cubic meters and a debit of 2.5 m/s.
Lacul Morii is the largest lake in Chiajna, with an area of 246 ha. The lake is approximately 6 km (3.7 mi) from the center of Bucharest and is located between the Polytechnic University of Bucharest neighborhood to the east, the Crângași and Giulești districts to the north, the Militari district to the south and the village Roșu to the west.
Dâmbovița Lake is a lake situated on Dâmbovița River in Bucharest and Chiajna, west of Morii Lake and bordering that lake. It has an area of 55 ha. The lake is 3 km (1.9 mi) from the center of Bucharest and is located between Morii Lake to the east, Giulești district to the north, Chiajna commune and Roșu Forest to the south.
Fundeni is a district in Sector 2 of Bucharest, Romania. It is situated in the northeastern outskirts of the city, on the left bank of the Colentina River, downstream of Plumbuita Monastery, and near the Fundeni Lake that was formed on the river. On its west and north-west are located the Colentina and Andronache neighbourhoods, on its north the town of Voluntari and on its east the commune of Dobroești.
Cycling in Bucharest is less popular than in other European cities, in part due to the lack of cycling infrastructure and because of the low taxes for owning and driving a car. Nevertheless, cycling became increasingly common during the 2010s and thousands of cyclists participate in Critical Mass events, protesting against the Municipality of Bucharest's opposition to building segregated cycle facilities.

Lake Herăstrău is an anthropic lake located in the northern part of the city of Bucharest, developed on the Colentina River, in the area where it flows through the urban area of the city, situated between Lake Băneasa upstream and Lake Floreasca downstream. It is the biggest lake in Bucharest.
