Lal Tip (The Red Point) is a 2012 romance film directed by Swapan Ahmed and produced by Impress Telefilm Limited and Benani Films. The film stars Emon and Kusum Sikder in lead roles. The film was released worldwide on 17 February 2012. [3] [4]

Filming

Shooting locations included Paris, Bangkok, and Dhaka. Some shots were taken in India. The cast filmed in Bangkok and Cox's Bazar, where Emon and Kusum Sikder also shot a romantic song. 50% of the shots were done in France, and the rest were done in Thailand, Bangladesh, and India.

Casting

Mamnun Hasan Emon was the first to sign into the film and was under Swapon Ahmed's direction for the second time. Kusum Sikder was signed to play the female lead, as Swapon Ahmed wanted a fresh face for his movie.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack was composed by Fuad al Muqtadir. Two songs, Beshe Jai and Hariye Jawa Sapne, were released with the trailer. The promo video for all the songs was released on 27 December 2011. Samsung organized the film's music launch on 25 December 2011. [5] The music was composed by Fuad al Muqtadir, Ibrar Tipu, and Arefin Rumey. Three-time Academy Awards winner Morris Jar composed one song for the album.

Samsung and Channel i announced their association with Impress Telefilm Limited for their film Lal Tip. [6] [7]

Lal Tip was released worldwide on 17 February 2012. A red carpet premiere of Lal Tip was organised by Impress Telefilm on 15 February 2012. [8] [9]

Impress Telefilm Limited is a media production house in Bangladesh, formed in 2003. The company produces film, drama, and drama serials, music videos, variety shows, magazine programmes, musical programmes and documentaries as well as TV commercials. It was founded by Faridur Reza Sagar.

<i>Devdas</i> (2013 film) 2013 Bangladeshi film

Devdas is a 2013 Bangladeshi romantic period drama film based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel Devdas. The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, who also directed the 1982 version and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar under the banner of his Impress Telefilm, based on the 1917 novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcoholism, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a courtesan, Chandramukhi, played by Moushumi.

Sincerely Yours, Dhaka is a 2018 Impress Telefilm drama film produced as Bangladesh's first anthology film directed by eleven individual directors. It is a collection of gritty shorts centered on the capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka, and the people living in its margins. It was awarded "Best Original Screenplay" at the 11th edition of the Jaipur International Film Festival (JIFF), held in India in January 2019. It is one of the first two films to enter Netflix originating from Bangladesh. It was selected as the Bangladeshi entry for Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. It was also screened at 51st International Film Festival of India in January 2021 in Country in focus section.
