Lara Baldesarra (born April 2, 1987) is a television broadcaster. She has anchored extensively across CNN including World Sport and NewsCenter on CNN International and Early Start on CNN. Baldesarra also appeared across CNN International, CNN and HLN as an analyst and contributor. [1]

Background

Baldesarra was born in Toronto and grew-up in New York City where she trained and performed in theatre and ballet. She is an Honors Graduate of the University of Toronto, earning a Specialist Degree in Economic Geography. Baldesarra is also an alumna of the University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico and the Institut de Touraine in Tours, France. She continued her studies with a post-graduate degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Broadcasting

Baldesarra began her sports broadcasting career with TSN. [2]

Baldesarra started her own radio show in Toronto before turning to television having been recruited by Fox Soccer.

Baldesarra moved to Sportsnet and expanded internationally with Setanta anchoring her own morning sports show "Sportsnet World Connected" and branded "Setanta Connected" internationally.

Baldesarra joined the Golf Channel in 2012. She was the host of the "Grey Goose 19th Hole", anchored the network's signature news show, "Golf Central", and covered breaking news and live events.

On November 13, 2013, CNN announced that Baldesarra joined the network in Atlanta. From December 2013, she anchored World Sport, Early Start and NewsCenter . [3] Baldesarra also contributed to all shows across the network and various Turner properties such as HLN, TNT, and PGA.com. She left CNN in 2017. [4]

Personal life

Baldesarra resides in Florida and Toronto. She is the President of LP3 Developments and is working on various film projects. She is an outspoken critic of politically and financially motivated bias and lies in media, along with the importance of free speech. Baldesarra is known to be very private after dealing with tabloid speculation and rumors of her romantic involvement with a Sheikh.
