Lara Marie Moscardon Maigue (born June 7, 1991) is a Filipino singer and songwriter. She was recognized as the Best Classical Performer at the 2017 Aliw Awards [1] and won the Best Female Crossover Performer at the 2018 Aliw Awards. [2]
Lara Maigue was born to Filipino composer and arranger Professor Rayben Maigue, and soprano Nanette Moscardon, who also served as her first classical mentor. [3] She later received training from Fides Cuyugan-Asensio at the University of the Philippines College of Music, where she graduated with a major in Voice. [3]
Beginning in 2010, Maigue has been an ambassador for Filipino music, performing solo cultural concerts in various locations such as Florence, Italy; Canberra and Sydney, Australia; Singapore; and New Delhi, India.[ citation needed ] In 2013, Maigue ventured into songwriting and achieved recognition as one of the top five finalists in the Philippine Popular Music Festival (Philpop), a songwriting competition led by Ryan Cayabyab and Manny Pangilinan. Her composition, "Sa'yo Na Lang Ako", was interpreted by singer and actress Karylle. [4] Subsequently, Maigue explored acting and secured a lead role in the musical television series on TV5, Trenderas . [5] Her performance earned her a nomination for "Outstanding Breakthrough Performance by an Actress" at the Golden Screen TV Awards. [6] In 2014, Maigue is signed with Alcasid Total Entertainment Artist Management (ATeam), where she has performed as a special guest in concerts by Ogie Alcasid, Gary Valenciano, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid. [7] In 2015, Maigue was among the top 12 finalists in Philpop with her entry, "Nasaan". [8] Before this, she had written theme songs for teleseryes and movies, which were interpreted by Filipino artists such as Erik Santos, Jaya, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.[ citation needed ]
In 2017, Maigue received the Aliw Award for Best Classical Performer. [1] That same year, she played the role of 'Ligaya Paraiso' in the musical adaptation of the award-winning film Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag , directed by Joel Lamangan. [9] She also served as an opening act in Regine Velasquez's 30th-anniversary concert, R3.0 . [10] In 2018, Maigue returned to television as a segment host for Sagisag Kultura TV, a program by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts on PTV-4. [11] She also reprised her role as Monica in Giancarlo Menotti's opera, The Medium . [12] While continuing to perform at corporate and private events, Maigue collaborated with veteran concert performers. She participated in Gary Valenciano's project, Awit at Laro, as both the composer of "Piko", interpreted by Morissette, and the interpreter of "Patintero", a composition by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab and Jose Javier Reyes, performed with the AMP Big Band. [13] She also interpreted new compositions like the theme song of the Cinemalaya entry "Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang Dapithapon". [14] Amid these performances, Maigue was selected to participate in the master class of opera singer Sumi Jo during the Hong Kong International Operatic Singing Competition 2018. [15] She also emerged as a finalist at the Singapore Lyric Opera ASEAN Vocal Competition. [16] Towards the end of the year, Maigue signed with Star Music and released her first single, "Kung Puwede Lang Naman", which she wrote herself. Under Star Music, she plans to release more of her original compositions as well as some covers. [17] Before the end of 2018, the Aliw Awards Foundation nominated her for two categories: Best Female Classical Performer and Best Female Crossover Performer. Maigue was declared the Best Female Crossover Performer for 2018. [2]

In 2021, Maigue signed with Star Magic as part of their Black Pen Day event, in conjunction with the ATeam’s partnership with Star Magic. [18] In August 2021, she temporarily joined the ASAP Natin 'To's "New Gen Birit Divas", until Zephanie Dimaranan transferred to GMA Network in 2022, when Fana was announced as her permanent replacement. Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez is a Filipino singer and actress. She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique. She had unorthodox voice training during her childhood, where she was immersed neck-deep in the sea. Velasquez rose to prominence after winning the television talent show Ang Bagong Kampeon in 1984 and the Asia Pacific Singing Contest in 1989. Under the name Chona, she signed a recording contract with OctoArts International in 1986 and released the single "Love Me Again", which was commercially unsuccessful. The following year, she adopted the stage name Regine Velasquez for her debut studio album, Regine (1987), under the guidance of Viva Records executive Vic del Rosario and producer Ronnie Henares. Filipino singer Regine Velasquez has released seventeen studio albums, eight soundtrack albums, one live album, fifteen compilation albums, five extended plays (EPs), ninety-three singles, and twenty-three promotional singles. In 1984, she won the television talent competition Ang Bagong Kampeon and was signed to a record deal with OctoArts International. She released her first single, "Love Me Again", in 1986, under the name Chona. After adopting the stage name Regine Velasquez, she signed with Viva Records in 1987 and released her debut studio album, Regine, that spawned three singles—"Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang", "Urong Sulong", and "Isang Lahi". In December 1989, she represented the Philippines at the Asia-Pacific Singing Contest, performing the songs "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going", and won the competition. The Philippine Popular Music Festival is an annual songwriting competition organized by the Philpop MusicFest Foundation and was launched in 2012. The creation of the festival was inspired by the defunct Metro Manila Popular Music Festival. The foundation itself is headed by the chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, executive director Ryan Cayabyab and administrator and communications director Patricia Bermudez-Hizon. The competition is only open to original and previously unreleased songs in English, Filipino and other Philippine languages. Since its inception, it has been airing annually in TV5.

"Akin Ka Na Lang" is a Filipino song first recorded by singer and songwriter Morissette. It was written by Francis Kiko Salazar for the Himig Handog: P-Pop Love Songs songwriting competition (2014). The song reached the finals of the competition but did not receive an award. Nevertheless, it became a popular ballad in the Philippines. It was released as a bonus track on Morissette's 2015 eponymous debut album.
R3.0 was an arena concert by Filipino singer Regine Velasquez, held on October 21 and 22, 2017, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. It was a part of Velasquez's promotion of her seventeenth studio album R3.0 (2017) and marked a celebration of the 30th anniversary of her professional debut in 1986. The set list featured songs predominantly taken from the album, with additional songs from her older albums and various covers of pop hits. It was exclusively promoted by Viva Entertainment, with PLDT, Inc. as sponsor. Raul Mitra served as music director, while Paolo Valenciano was tapped as stage director.
Iconic was a co-headlining concert tour by Filipino singers Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez. Comprising 16 shows, it began on October 18, 2019, at the Araneta Coliseum in Manila, and concluded on March 26, 2023, in Los Angeles. The tour in the United States was due to begin May 2020 with six dates scheduled, but these were postponed following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic; new shows were announced after a two-year delay. It continued in June 2022 at the Resorts World Manila, followed by a series of shows in the United States throughout 2023. The concert tour featured guest appearances by Pilita Corrales, Jeremy Glinoga, and Zephanie Dimaranan.
Unified was a co-headlining concert by Filipino singers Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo. It was announced in December 2019 and held on two consecutive nights in February 2020 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. The show was a co-production by Viva Live and iMusic Entertainment, in partnership with the Pinoy Box Office, Tagalized Movie Channel, and K Movies Pinoy. Ticket sales were handled by TicketNet, with Colgate as a major sponsor. Raul Mitra and Louie Ocampo served as musical directors, while Paolo Valenciano was the stage director. The set list included songs taken from the singers discographies, as well as covers of various pop and OPM music.
